any pipex users?

ive been with them for 6 months and got a bit p*ssed as everywhere else was giving 1mb connection for the price i was paying for 512k. so out of interest today i had a look on their site to see the latest pricing and i noticed their uncapped 1mb is now the same as the price im paying for uncapped 512k.

so angry me got on the blower to them and they tell me this week they re-priced the solo 1000 at the same price as the solo 500, and that im due for a free upgrade within the next 6 months. they couldnt pin down a date in the next 6 months so i decided instead to nip on their website and pay a £15 regrade fee and just get it now.

so any other pipex users out there, get upgrading!

yeah all existing customers will. im 6 months into my contract and thought whats point in waiting up to 6 months as ill probably leave at the end of my contract as im sure there will be a 2mb around for the same price, so i just paid the re-grade fee now instead of waiting.

you could save yourself £15 by waiting but it may take up to 6 months to get it regraded.

Nice one thanks for the info, I have been with Pipex for 15 months now and rang them up last week to see if they could reduce my monthly payment as there are lots of other providers around who are a lot cheaper if not I was going to get a MAC code so I can migrate to another provider.
The guy on customer services told me they could not reduce my monthly payment (£23.44 for 512K uncapped) but had a word with his manager and agreed to give me a months subscription for free saying they will be bringing out some loyalty deals in the coming months to bring them in line with other providers so it is worth sticking around to see what happens. There is a catch with this free month, if I migrate in the next 12 months I have to pay it back :-(
I think I will pay £15 to regrade to 1Mb now as my free month offsets this cost and I am still £8.44 up compared to if I had sat back and done nothing like a lot of others have done. :-)
My experiance with Pipex has been great with no noticable down time and a fast connection, I think I will stick with them if I can get 1Mb for the same price as 512K.

I paid the £15 upgrade fee yesterday and am awaiting further details. Today I got a email from Pipex explaining that valued exsisting customers will start getting the upgrade and they are launcing a Loyalty Program (Points etc)

I'm with Pipex on a 2 Mb connection and i have just had an e-mail advising that they have reduced my payment from £39.99 to £33.99 for an unlimited download and no caps
I have stayed with these as i do not like AOL even though they are only £29.99
and also i have just migrated from PlusNet after 21 months

What made you decide to migrate? I'm with PlusNet at the moment too but I'm moving house very soon and if I want to stay with them I have to pay £64 to transfer to my new address. Therefore I'm strongly considering joining Pipex instead for FREE!!
