Wow, you're organised! I've not bought anything yet, but I've spent the evening designing a save-the-date card in Photoshop - using free fonts and free Photoshop brushes from the glorious interwebs
We've got a friend who's offered to print anything we need for free :money: so we're making our own save-the-date cards and invitations.
My stepdad's also offered his car as my wedding car, so no need to spend there either!:j Married my lovely man on 29th June 2013 :j0 -

I've tied them up in individual baggies and put them in a wardrobe so hopefully they won't melt or anything!
Am being a total (inner) Bridezilla with them too, refusing to have more than two of the same scent, with the exception of "Wedding Day", and have been making lists so there are equal feminine and manly scents!
Don't worry about the yankee candles, anytime I go to NYC I stock up and i've got some from 2 years ago that are just as strong a scent as they were the day we bought them!0 -
Morning to all 2013 brides to be!
2 more purchases (must stop...must stop...) from our local car bootie:
A shallow footed clear glass bowl for sweetie table in box for £1.50
An approx 1m tall white wooden candle holder, with a circular centre for £2 - will add a pillar candle and flowers in the centre circle to make a pretty display and put it somewhere in the hotel's lounge.
Been snooping on ebay for a veil: ivory, short and 2 tiered. Some went yesterday for less than £2! Am gonna try to grab a bargain :cool:Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
Hi all, another 2013 bride joining you! We are hoping for March/ April time and have started looking at venues. In fact we are off to see our first choice venue tonight, and Im hoping its better than the dump we saw yesterday, where the walls were mouldy and the seat cushions were ripped with stuffing hanging out!
So far I have found my dress online with free custom fitting, and she also does my bridesmaid dress so is doing me a good deal, both for £400!!
We have decided on a colour scheme of chocolate and cream!
And bargains Ive bought so far are:
*wedding post box that I will decorate myself
*3 big jars for candy buffet
*ladies favour boxes
*table crystals
*ribbon and embellishments for making invitations
*Transformers cuff links for groom and top gear ones for car crazy best man!
*chosen my flowers and cake!
I have become a bit of a wedding obsessed bridezilla, bought heaps of magazines and registered on all the websites! I had expected my h2b to be sick of it by now since when we got engaged he said he was in charge of kilts transport and budget and thats it, however since we started looking at venues he's become a groomzilla and keeps saying he cant wait to get married, has upped the budget and whenever I say we need to compromise because of the price he says he wont compromise on HIS special day!!lol I suppose I shouldnt complain !Ideas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -

Hi
well the viewing of the 3rd venue was amazing! We both fell in love with it instantly and are paying our deposit this weekend! Its an independent hotel, cosy and a bit boutique feel to it. The prices are unbelievable, with things like free use of chair covers, table centres and mirrors, 3 for 2 on hotel rooms etc, and the menu is £24 per head with the guests able to choose from 2 starters,3 mains and 2 desserts (all yummy things like roast beef and lamb!). I could not be happier! The laugh of it is the mouldy venue actually charged more! So phew thats a relief.
If you have Facebook, search for My Big Fat Gorgeous Wedding, she is doing my dress! She has heaps of stunning gowns, as well as bridesmiads, veils tiaras etc. She is in Stirling so Im hoping to lose some more weight and drive down soon and see her for my dress! And the prices are amazing!
Lol Ive only been engaged since April but we've been together 7 years and Ive been wedding crazy and planning it all in my bed for years!lol.
Thats really exciting you got your invoice, whats your venue like?

Hi yeah thats it!!xIdeas, help and advice always welcome, judgements and assumptions are not!!:happyhearMarrying my Mr Perfect 20130 -
Hi all, we are getting married in Lindos, Rhodes in May 2013.
I thought I was a little premature in buyinh things so it is good to know that I am not the only one!
I think it is so much better that way so that we can spread the cost as much as poss.
I must admit that I am not as organised as some of you tho!
I have seen a dress that I have fallen in love with on light in the box ( has anyone used this site? ) it is half price at the mo and I am seriuosly considering making the purchase! Does anyone else think that is a bit too premature to buy my dress 22 months in advance??!
Also, I have been looking at making our own invitations, I have a lovely beach theme picfrom one of our holidays a few years ago which we think would be perfect. I would be grateful of any advice or websites that people may have used??

Hellooo!
Here's my list of wedding purchases from this week:
* 3 x giant martini glasses from TKMaxx for £10 each - an absolute bargain, even on ebay they can be £30 each!! They're around 70cm tall. As there should be 6 round tables at the breakfast, I'm going to have 3 with tall centrepieces (the glasses with flower arrangements of some sort on top) and 3 low with birdcages filled with flowers.
* 2 x dry foam spheres from Hobbycraft to make 2 DIY ferrero rocher trees for the sweetie table. I would have got these later on, but they rarely seem to have two of the same size ever in stock in our local store, so i struck!
* 2 x "R" cardboard 3D letters, also from Hobbycraft which I'll paint and hang on the hotel doors
* String of peach pearls for 20p from car bootie, perhaps to drape from centrepieces?
* Matching wooden large candle holder as I previously bought, only in dark wood for £1 from car bootie, will sand and paint white.
* 2 more half price Yankee samplers (fruit salad) to now make 38/70
* Small white wooden candle holder (urn style) from TKMaxx clearance for £3, will put flower pomander on it as pretty display
* 7 pairs of peach ladies flip flops for £1 each from Primark, for a flip-flop basket. The men's ones were soooo horrible, in neon pink and yellow, i decided to wait until i see some in a slightly more appropriate colour!
Crazy, much?!Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190
