Hello fellow 2013 Brides!!
The venue is booked, we are marrying on 9th June!
Paid the deposit of £1500 which leaves another £10,000 to go (yes, you read that correctly ). But it does come with a lot of things, including 5 different eating times (canapes, 4 course dinner, evening buffet, midnight feast and full english brekkie!), all 38 hotel rooms overnight, toastmaster, chair covers, cake stand, use of all rooms and grounds, a couple of drinks for each guest. Plus we all can use the spa's leisure facilities as long as we fancy the next day! Might have a newlywed bob in the pool
However, we also have to pay for all the usual suspects: photography, flowers, entertainment, cake, etc.
Just this moment ordered all our save the dates, wedding invitations (for overnight guests, mostly everyone) from Vistaprint for £52 total and managed to get the following for free:
* Small banner with peach rose on it saying "thankyou for sharing our special day. Please sign our Guestbook".
* Pen with our names on and date, to be used as guest book pen
* 50 x envelope seals to match save the dates and invites
Also got free rush hour delivery, though I'm not exactly in a rush!!
It's gonna be about £600+ to pay for the registrar as well, eeeek. Been on the phone for DAYS trying to pay the booking confirmation fee (£55!!) and noone EVER picks up, and i'm trying to pay them!
The White Company have some charades boxes and social stirrers for £1 online, possibly free delivery too. There are 80 sticks in each stirrer pack and although the charades boxes have "2009" printed on the box, i'm simply going to put a little sticker over it!
Also got some Bo Peep baskets from a car boot sale, will spray paint them white and fill with confetti cones/flowers. One was only 10p!
Think I've almost got all the sweetie buffet jars I need, maybe one or two more, you never know!
Hope you are all having a lovely day!Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
So nice to see so many 2013 brides!
Me and my OH decided this week that 2013 will be our year too! :j
He doesn't like the idea of a big wedding (My family is huge!) So, we're getting married abroad. That way we don't have to have the extended family - which will cost an absolute bomb!
I'm so excited!! :j
Now, I'm scaring him by looking at wedding things online! lol
Good luck 2013 brides :beer:0 -
I noticed a few of you have already bought your invites, where did you manage to get cheap ones from, I am probably going to need to send out about 70.0

Another 2013 bride too! We've just booked our venue over the weekend, and bought some insurance. Venue is my biggest expense at £5000 so I'll be scouring sales and diy'ing everything else lol
We found so many places already booked for 2013 when we started looking about 6 weeks ago, I couldnt believe it! We had originally wanted to get married 4th May however have now booked 1st April as it's Easter Monday however the venue didn't realise and have guaranteed the price with a midweek discount hehe

OMG! All the stationary arrived yesterday from Vistaprint! It is gorgeous!!!:j
I had colour on both sides and opted for a linen finish for a couple of pounds extra, and I'm so glad I did. The sample invite I received from Confetti wasn't as good! Plus the banner is of excellent quality and the sitckers have a lovely glossy finish too!
Next on the list is sorting out the Wedding Insurance and carrying on with slowly buying the favours: Yankee Candle Samplers from Clintons and Prada Samples in little envelopes (ebay). The latter is Iris for the girls (in my mint green!) and black for the fellas.
I've been engaged since Feb 2008!! Over five years from engagement to wedding, by 2013 we'll have been a couple for over 8 years! I would feel old by saying that, but then again we did get together when we were 19
Am lurking around venue decoration companty websites, trying to get good quotes for starlight backdrops and ceiling drapes for the breakfast room. Bowshire looks amazing!! Probs won't be able to afford such extravegance, but it's nice to think that perhaps...Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190 -
Hello, June 2013 here
I've been engaged for five days now
I've started looking at venues, cheap wedding packages, putting in enquiries etc. My sister's also helping to get the ball rolling as I've decided she can be my wedding planner! And my stepdad's going to be our photographer, although he doesn't know it yet
Venue is my biggest expense at £5000 so I'll be scouring sales and diy'ing everything else lol:j Married my lovely man on 29th June 2013 :j0 -

I think that's how it's going to work for us as well - I'm determined to keep the cost as low as possible and will be DIY'ing, calling in favours from friends, etc. as much as possible!
I'm a 2013 Bride too :T, hopefully June :T!
June would tie in with our 8 year anniversary and we would have been engaged 2 years in June 2013.
We can't book a date until January 2013 though, so ours will be a last minute booking (with hopefully some discounts :j)
So I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for things that I can buy in advance which doesn't matter what the date/venue is............... Wedding will be beach themed so all I really know at the moment I would like are pebbles as place names on the tables, so I should get quite a collection between now and thenForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I'm a 2013 Bride too!
Getting married on August 15th, I booked the venue as we wanted a Thursday (£1500 cheaper) and when I went to look round two of the Thursdays in August had already gone!
Have paid the deposit, and booked the registrar so far! Got lots of ideas in my head but trying to slow down on booking or buying anything else whilst we desperately try to save!
It's all so exciting though and I don't think its too early to start planning at all, time creeps up very quickly!

Morning' All
Went to a huge boot sale on Sunday and got fab wedding bargains: 5 x 20cm round mirror plates for £1!!! Belonged to another bride, couldn't believe it, even on ebay they're around £5 each! Plus I got the Wedding Planner on DVD for 50p. Last of the big spenders over here! His royal highness got an Arsenal hardback history book (almost new) for £1 from the same stall. And that's all we spent! Am super chuffed and very MSE. :rotfl:Make £2019 in 2019 No 153 - £4517.17/£20190
