Any 2013 Brides

Hi, i know am i getting a big ahead of myself here but was just wondering if there were any 2013 brides like myself. I havnt done much in my wedding preparations as yet but we have just started looking at venues, requesting recommendatons for photographers etc. I thought i was being a bit too organised starting now but one of the venues already has the date we wanted provisionally booked up and the week before aswell so i suppose im not the only one.

Just wondering if you have booked anything or done any preparations yet.

I'm planning to get married hopefully june/july 2013. Same as you in that not really started preparations apart from ordering venue brochures, looking at prices for things on the web.

Although I'm not a bride, a groom is the best I can do, myself and my partner have started looking around and going to wedding fayres. Hope I'm welcome here :undecided none the less.

I did start a thread for May 2013 as thats when we want to get married, but so far I'm the only poster.

We have booked the church so far as they didnt require a deposit and we wanted to ensure it was secured. We'll pre book the venue next as we're trying to reduce costs where we can and hence the place we have found is reasonable but we want to ensure we have it secured.

You can never start too early, it ensures you get what you want, without having to pay over the top :j

Our plans were for summer 2012 but with the Olympics being held in London (our wedding will be abroad) and my sister only available during school holidays (teacher) I'm doubtful that 2012 will be realistic!
I have no idea where to start, i've decided the basics, location, flowers, cake..... yet to try on any dresses! Tempted to try some awful ones so i dont fall in love with the first one i try on....

I've just taken the first step towards organising our wedding and have inquired about dates at a venue we like. I didn't even really know what to say in the e-mail! I guess the next step now may be to go and view the venue and discuss dates/costs etc while I'm there. Would ideally like early summer next year but If it's a long waiting list may be a 2013 bride

Nope you're not too far ahead of yourself and you're not the only one - I'm a JUNE 2013 bride
We've started looking to be able to figure out our budget; it helps that we know people who know people who can give us a better price - and I've already found my dress, can pay if off monthly and I don't have to worry about paying off a fortune before the wedding. It works for me

I just wanna start getting excited for it and organising. I'm very much for writing lists and gathering info, actually me and my other half are very much like that.

Thats the advantage of starting early IMO, you can pay it off over a longer period and not have to make rash decisions, time is with you to find everything right, and at the right price.

I'm hoping to be a July 2013 bride. Going to start looking at venues in the next couple of months. As we're paying for it ourselves anything we can do to keep costs low will be vital!

Ooo, im glad im not the only one. we are going for a second viewing round our venue on thurs and fingers crossed we'll know whether we can have the date we want. We have done our guest list and im now looking into prices for photographers and cars just so we can get an estimate of how much everything is going to cost.
