    Hi
Have updated signature, another £19.40 in Sains*** and 70p in the C**p. We needed butter, fruit, milk, marm**e, porridge, tea bags etc. I don't feel like I'm doing too well, less than a week in and I've spent lots. I am looking forward to the Superscrimpers program tonight, just read the write up and it said someone is going to show you how to make pants last longer! Not sure about that!

Spent €26.75 this morning, but in Dunnes so will still have to take a trip to Lidl....dogs and cats prefer their food and its cheaper anyway, will also buy a 'stick' of salami which stops OH buying cooked ham all the time for sandwiches ( mind you, its out of his own money, hummous is good enough for me!) Veg are better and cheaper too, so probably the same again when I get there....will leave it as long as I can.

    Good luck everybody.

Used the lemon curd cake recipe from the index but used muffin cases instead of making big cake. They were yummy - will definitely be making them again. Only problem I find with home baking is everyone is eating them before they have a chance to cool and be frozen - going to end up rather large I think!!

    Hi All,

I've stiill got the last day of my March budget to go so can't close off there as think I will have to do a tiny (stick to the list or else!) top up either later tonight or tomorrow as a couple of things just won't stretch. So far for March I'm over at £254.75/£240 target.

So I have been thinking about April. We are away for the Easter weekend, but still 4 big shops to get in. Cupboards are looking ok - quite a lot of the basics in, and the freezer still seems full although never seems to be anything to make a meal with.

So...I dropped the target quite a bit last month from £300, and enjoyed the challenge even though I didn't quite make it, I debated a further drop, but think I need to succeed in a month first, so I am going to put down for £240 again this month, but this time I really do intend to come in under, not over.

So please can you put me down for £240.

Thanks & good luck everyone x.
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

having just split up from my husband I'm going to need to cut down on bills so I'd like to join in this month. I'm aiming for £300 to include all food and groceries and pet and household (inc meals out) as I think we currently spend FAR more than that.
Thats for one adult f/t; one adult p/t (husband at weekends) and 1 active 6 yr old + two cats

  • Ok things went extremely pear shaped last month and I lost count of what I spent, though I dont think I massively went over my budget. Please can you put me down for £100 For april. This is for three people and I am sure I can keep to it.

Right, I'm getting into this challenge now! I've downloaded an app on my phone called spendometer. I've set it at £500, so every time I do my food shopping I can put it into the app straight away! So far I've spent £14.04!
What phone was the app on as i could do with something like that on my phone.

I forgot to tell you....when I took my trolley back after putting my shopping in the car yesterday, there was one trolley in the trolley park with a receipt in it. Never one to waste an opportunity, I picked it up and ran it though the a$da receipt thing this morning. My own shopping didn't get a voucher, but the wombled one gave me a voucher for £5.32 :eek:Result!
