Spigs Really pleased to see you posting again - we all missed you and your posts, although I'm so sorry to hear that things didn't go to plan and that you ended up in ICU fgs! - That's the last thing you needed. I hope you don't have to wait too long for a re-schedule.....waiting is not an easy thing to cope with, especially under your circumstances. No wonder you're feeling emotional hun :grouphug:

helen jelly Thanks for your good wishes hun :) It will apparently be several weeks before we hear anything back from Shelter, but I'm mentally preparing myself for it to go to a tribunal. While waiting, I somehow have to get DD to the Job Centre for her first "Work Related" interview on the 5th May - I'm dreading it. And the poor girl still has Diarrhoea, headaches and stomach cramps from the Norovirus - although they do seem to be easing slightly - and we're seeing no positive change since starting the new anti depressant 3 weeks ago, which is very disappointing to say the least, so it's not been the easiest few weeks.

Anyway - it's good to see the sun eh? It's lifted my spirits a bit, if not DDs.

Candy Belle Hope you've had a better week at work hun :grouphug:

Glad to be of help Rebekah24 & 123 :) It can take a few months to find, and settle into a routine that suits you best, so don't be disheartened if it doesn't all fall into place at once.

You'll find we're a friendly bunch on here, so just shout out with any questions you have :)

A small spend of £2 on milk today, but I can't see me making my budget this month. I need too many things during the course of next week, and (I think) not enough money. I'll do my best though, but tomorrow I still have 8 days to go, and I have broken my golden rule and already started next weeks money. Naughty, naughty me! :D

Spigs - good to see you posting
Huge hugs for everyone with the disability reviews, it sounds awful and unfair. I would very much like to understand what job they think your daughter could do Hippeechiq

Massive over spends here, compounded by a visit to the butchers and a spend of £125 - which is meat for several months

Someone suggested a sticker in the purse saying 'holiday' which is a great idea.

I also need to ban myself from the Co-op  The milkman delivers milk, fruit & veg and I am finally making nice bread so I shouldn't need to go Every Single Day.

only not today, because we have run out of cat biscuits and all four have been and complained :o

  • :eek:Well A fail this month, i'm at 508.24 over my 500 budget, I still have this weeks food to go......
I did have a tall german student for 2 weeks and have a swiss boy at the moment, so more food has to be available (though they go off and spend all their money on coke zero and chocolate!)
At least after one month of keeping track of my spending I have an idea of where it all goes.....on my spendometer (thanks for the tip)...And that makes me feel a little less out of control! :)
I'm going to try for £500 for next month......fingers crossed!

Just back from Mr T's and a spend of £32 from a budget of £45 so well pleased with that.:j:j
It did help that there's plenty in and so most of the spend was fresh bits and pieces, toiletries and dog food etc.
  • Does anyone know if you need to stick to use-by date for beans, I've just unearthed a tupperware box full of packets of dried beans, but some have a best before of 2006???:o
Can I use them? Will I kill my family with dried legumes???
    Anyone got an idea!!
    Thanks FP

£20.13 spent today in Mr S - that leaves £4.87 left for the rest of the week. Am determined to come in on budget so will stay out of the shops again to get there! Last day for me is Wed 27th and should be able to do it - no need for anything else and must remember this!

Thanks hun - you and me both

I don't use dried beans, so I don't know whether or not they'd be unsafe to eat, but I have read on the site somewhere that old dried beans become very tough and that no amount of boiling them will soften them up, if that helps at all.

Went for a long walk with my OH today down through Bournemouth gardens, then along the sea front towards Poole and up through the wooded chine and it was beautiful. DD has also had a better day today, so it's been a good day all round in the Hippeechiq household :)

Bought 3 bottles of lemonade and 2 loaves of bread later on totalling £2.50 bringing my April spends so far to £215.62

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)
