I spent £4.47 on strawberries and grapes in T3sco today. My DS has so many easter eggs that I thought I'd stock up fruit and dip it in melted easter egg then chill - slightly healthier!
Off to update my sig now x*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0 -
Well hello everyone, :hello:
I'm not going to go into details but suffice to say the second op didn't go to plan and I ended up in intensive care and still no biopsy taken.
In terms of the GC, I'll update my sig in a minute or two but we are standing at £213.39 as at today's date. Will probably need a couple more bits e.g. milk before the month ends next Thursday. I haven't tallied up the NSD but will do so for the sig.
Thanks all for your good wishes, kind thoughts and generous prayers while I was away. Reading through them has brought tears to my eyes more than once. I have tried to catch up and post a few times over the week but have been very tired and emotional - not a good look on me!
I'm glad your back is better Sistercas :T and I'm sorry the powers that be still aren't seeing sense for you and your DD Hippeechiq.
Welcome to the returners and newbies.
You and me, misers both angelatgraceland! :rotfl:
Ooh and on the how do we spend question for Rebekah24 and 123Budget. If I'm shopping I tend to use the debit card but I'm reasonably religious about my shopping list. If OH is shopping I tend to ensure it's done in cash as that limits his tendency to buy 'offers'! I did do the weekly cash thing for a while and it does work but for me the list is by far the most important thing.
I also agree with Billie-jo that if you have the time to visit more than one sm then shopping around will normally get you best value for limited money.
We keep all receipts and I record our spends on a spreadsheet so that I know where we are against budget at all times.
Final advice I'd offer is don't assume that sm are always cheaper than the high street or local market (normally the very best for prices). We never buy meat from the sm as quality and price are much better at the local butcher. Same goes for f&v from the local grocer (though I do sometimes buy bananas from the sm). Hope that helps.
DD and GD1 have just arrived and so I'm off now. Happy Easter everyone, :icotbaske I hope the weather stays good for us all.
Take care,

done my weekly shop today at mr t and spent £68.72, it would have come to a bit less but i forgot to hand over my dd's healthy start voucher  she gives them to me for the shopping as she lives at home so it does help a bit. Bit of a rant about the supermarkets today as i thought they closed at 4 being its Good Friday so i rushed down there and when i asked what time they shut i was told " oh were open till tomorrow night", it annoyed me as i thought anything to make money and they cant even shut early for good friday.
Anyway i bought 2 good food recipe books so going to start planning new recipes
(((hugs))) to anyone that needs them.I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -

Well I went to A1di on Thursday as planned and spent £15.44, loaded up the car and took the trolley back, then went back to the car, all well so far, then as I pulled out of the parking space the car stalled! I tried starting it again but it stalled again, after many tries I managed to get it back into the parking space and called the AA as it wouldn't start. I didn't realise until I got my card out, but our membership ran out the day before  but luckily it renews automatically because I pay on my credit card, phew, but the woman I spoke to still had to check the payment was going through, and called me back before arranging a call out. Lovely man from AA arrived about 20 mins later, couldn't fix it as he reckoned the fuel pump had gone, so he towed me home. I've never been towed before, so I was a nervous wreck by the time I got home, and told him I needed a stiff drink, lol! Could do without the expense of a car repair, as I've only just renewed the insurance and got the m.o.t due next month, but luckily OH's godfather is a mechanic so it shouldn't cost as much as it would elsewhere, got it booked in for Tuesday.
Today I went to get an easter egg for OH (which I would have got yesterday if I hadn't had car trouble) and spent £4.08 in Mr S, didn't count the egg as that didn't come out of grocery budget.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
