GC is going ok so far even though I have under £30 left until last day of 27th April.
Made the lovely sausage casserole from the front page where you chop the sausages into pieces - its gorgeous and tasty! Then used up a few more potatoes and made a big dish of potato boulangere. Enough for 3 large meals to last me Sun/Mon and then either Tues or Wed. Used up the nearly off brocoli too for 2 meals
Determined to eat up what I have in fruit and veg wise and also take soup to work to eat this up out of the freezer too and create some space in there and not spend anything at lunchtime
Not taking any money with me Mon-Wed to get some NSDs and aim to stick to the budget
Whats left then? £25.43 to last 9 daysfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi All
Strugglin again but tryin hard to stay in budget this month seeing as i have increased it!!! Currently on £222.14. still gd chunk of the month to go yet0 -
Went to Iceland to stock up on milk and got tempted by the winegums! 400g for £2 I could not walk past!
Cornettos half price at £1.25 per pack of 4 Milk still £1 for 4 pints(rather than the lesser 2 litres)and some half price boxes of chargrilled chicken by b/e-think it was jerk chicken or similar. 50p per b ox so look in your local Iceland in case they are stopping seeling these! Had lots of other offers in the reduced cabinet but I only took in £10 with me. No room in the freezer anyway and spent the full £10.
Uptodate with spending now-I had about 4 or 5 n/s days last week so on track now. Totals up to date in sig. Happy that I didnt go over my quarterly total when I added up the last 3 months.
DD cooked a turkey stirfry and homemade wedges today-all from scratch. I made 2 rissotos night before last-one was haddock-as in recipe thread but instead of peas I used peppers and sweetcorn. Other risotto was bacon and mushroom-same basic recipe as haddock but 200g of the bacon and 100g of mushroom instead of haddock and peas. I will make some additions/variations to the recipe asap on the thread.
Each batch makes 4 or 5 servings. I froze most of them for when I am in a hurry.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
As of today £80.04 invited people to lunch Sunday my SIL
has trouble with arthritus so the chance to sit and eat without needing to cook wash up so it was £8 or so well spent even if the £1.99 Hampshire free range knuckle would have tasted great as well and added nothing to food shop but she loved the mussels, bacon, tomato and creme fraiche, and i enjoyed the rest of the cider too and again today with a bit of coley from freezer added to make chowder of sorts I won't complain tasted great more leftovers tomorrow very happy about that and 4 days beer in the fridge lol and a months butter ie. 2 packs.
Spend £80.04 of £160 12 days to go
It's only rock and roll but I like it.0 -
FAIL! Budget well and truly bust, argh! And I still need even more "few bits" next week. It's not good really, especially as money was a bit tight this month (and vastly so last month) because of the moving and starting a new job. I'm trying to save back what I had to use from my savings but it isn't working! Still, the freezer is jam-packed and I'm hoping I won't need to spend as much next month. All I can do is try again next month.0

Another £50 spend today. That takes me up to £200:eek: and I only planned to spend £150. Still, it did mean that I got the latest Harry Potter dvd for £6.January spend = £100

Just a small spend to report from Saturday £3.55 taking our spends this month up to £118.15 so far however I will need some fruit, veg, salad and possibly cheese tomorrow.
We are having some home made pork and chilli meatballs tomorrow for tea that were left over from a week or two ago and will have them with salad, pasta, sauce and cheese or garlic bread.
Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather we are having, it goes a long way to helping you feel better.
Good luck for the restof the month everyone.

hope you have a great birthday. How about doing a cake or trifle and decorating the top with cream blueberries and strawberries in the pattern of the union jack? And maybe coronation chicken :0) xx

I think you're right about the history of the event; there are a few recipes here http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/royal-wedding and some decorated cupcakes here http://www.bakingmad.com/recipes/cupcakes/union-jack-cakes
might be worth googling for street party food? I read that one small street party will be eating bangers and mash!
and Happy Birthday!!
