  • Hi all
I have been over on the flylady thread trying to get my housework under control so not had time to read entire thread here have read the last page and my sympathies to all who are finding it hard I suffered from post-natal depression after my second and it is so hard to get any support. Don't give up.

Anyway GC OMG I have been trying hard but obviuosly not hard enough still have two weeks to go and I have already spent £296.54 but I did go shopping today (mullerlights on offer at Morrisons 12 for £2 - my lot eat them like they're going out of fashion!) and I am at work mon to wed so hopefully shouldn't need to go near a supermarket till at least thursday. I find I am spending more time in Aldi getting their fruit and veg as I do SW, it costs a fortune otherwise but because I go a couple sometimes 3 times a week I add extras on, I need to do an inventory of my cupboards and plan a bit more - that I am sure will help
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

    Evening all

Just an update of the spends, shopped yesterday at MrA and MrT, total spent was £59.64 between the 2 shops, am really pleased with that as had vouchers for both which dropped the spends. Will be endeavouring to keep as close to budget as possible as overspent badly last month, so need to do my best to re-dress the balance. We're going to mum's for lunch tomorrow as it was dad's birthday yesterday and most of the family are here, so that's saved me buying meat for a roast! Boys going to MIL's Monday morning until Tuesday night, so a little more money saved there. Have been planning more and made sure I've been baking/cooking and it seems to have paid off.

Have got the garden planted up so hoping everything grows and we'll reap the benefits in the next few months!

Sorry to hear so many are having a hard time at the moment, hugs to those that need/want them.

There's a lot of catching up for me to do but just wanted to pop in and say my April GC spends add up to about £38 so far. I've had some good bargains such as ^ x Ginsters Chicken and Mushroom slices at 20p each from Coop and 4 x litre bottles organic skimmed milk at 10p per bottle also from Coop. A few other bargains too but can't recall them now I want to!

Hope you've all been doing alright, rightio, i'm off to do some catching up!

  • Just updated my signature. I am hopeful that I will be within target for the 2nd month running although the kids are now off for two weeks so they may actually eat me out of house & home by then!

Hippeechiq - don't give up fighting, hun. Keep coming on here if you are feeling particularly low & need some encouragement. You have a lot of virtual friends on here all routing for you & praying that you finally get some justice for your daughter. The MP idea that someone suggested earlier might actually be another avenue worth persuing. Big hugs to you.

  • Spending less this week I hope-Ive yet to tot up the receipts though. Cutting down on my hours at work will mean I can claim back my kitchen and reduce my foodbills although I must not complain at dds lovely cooked meals awaiting me many nights!
In a risotto mood tonight so I've done one batch using bacon and mushroom and now another batch using had sweetcorn and peppers.
That will be a rather odd sunday lunch I agree but we have had a lot of roasts latelyy so it will be a nice change.
The haddock was half price at £1.25 stickered in Coop today-also bought 4 loaves of reduced hovis.

Eventually declaring for march very late at £509.11 that was until 31st March.

    I will catch up!!!

I've added this weeks receipts up and they come to £39.64. I usually only do one shop, but I had to go back to A$da on Friday to get the things they didn't have on Wednesday. Next week, as it's the school holidays, I am having 2 weeks "heavy stuff" (cat litter, cat food etc) delivered on Tuesday, then I will only have to nip in for fresh stuff. Shopping with the small person is not a relaxing pastime and is better done quickly and for as few items as possible.

    Take care all of you.
