only saving grace is that I should have enough to last me until the end of the moment apart from milk/bread/spuds/fruit/veg - oh :( thats gonna cost a few quid then

and I am on holiday after easter so meals out and extras (grrr) why am I so rubbish with my money.

Must try harder. Will get round to meal planning I promise and setting a budget that I stick to.

Hippeechic I am so sorry to hear some of you are having such a hard time, my youngest half sister 'I have two' (my dads family this time) has BPD, it's awful for the sufferer and a nightmare for the family to cope with. So I understand how difficult things can be. I know she gets DLA, I am not sure if thats the same in England. The worrying thing is I know of loads of people who have lost their disability living allowance, and are deemed fit for work, they have gone through stupid examinations, being made to touch their heads etc, knowing their name. Some of the questions have no right answer for the person undergoing the examination. Its all part of the powers that be reducing the amount of folk on DLA. The trouble is there are so many people claiming it that shouldn't be on it. ( We had a neighbour who had a disabled parking space and walked about with a stick) openly carry bags of cement, once a single bed on his own. There are so many folk like that that really don't need it, who spoil it for people like your DD with genuine need. I recently found out my recently deceased mother who was housebound near the end and partially blind. Fought for 11 years for DLA and only got it two months before her death, they backdated it to the date of her original claim. You will eventually get it but you have a fight on your hands. I also know someone who told SS that they couldn't cope with DS at home and that they would have to take him, they soon supported their claim, and they got help. In this case it was down to economics. Good luck and don't give up.

We had Steak pie mash and vegetables for dinner last night. DGD went mad for the homemade chicken soup, the first she has eaten in weeks since she was sick. So I'm well chuffed about that.
Lamb chops for dinner tonight me thinks, with rice fried onions, tomatoes and mushrooms.

What is your assessment for tigerfeet?

I am no where as bad as your DD Hippee. I suffer from PTSD which means I get panic attacks, anxiety, severe depression, flashbacks, fugue states (absences where I seem to function normally but I am not in control of what I am doing and can last for a few minutes or a couple of hours. So DH has to do all medicines as I have taken to much in the past and I have also gone walkabout, ended up in London one time.) I have problems with crowds and people, especially certain types of person. Nightmares, so I never have more than an hour or so undisturbed sleep. Dad takes the brood to school and collects as much as he can, which helps. Things like answering the phone or door can be impossible. Taking the brood out for trips or holidays is a military operation. I have to research everything to know where 'safe places' are. Another reason we camp is so we have our own area and if I can't get out there is still stuff for the brood to do. DH makes sure I am showered and dressed every morning and the brood are fed and washed and dressed. The menu plans help me make sure can do food for the evening and the menus I write out by hand in a way that means all the comonants come together at the same time or I do a lot of 1 pot or SC stuff or stuff with just rice as a side dish.

I also have a few physical problems from the thing that started all this. I sometimes lose control of one hand and have problems with my back and neck. Having the brood has knackered my hips as well.

There is obviously a bit more to it than that and I have good days and bad days.

(((hugs))) to you and your DD and I hope that this doesn't run and run.

Just been to the greengrocers and spent £5.50 on F&V for the week. That takes me to £43.50 for the week (£38 in Mr A too) so within the £45 budget - just!

ETA - big hugs and sympathy to all that need them - my OH has anxiety and depression and its very hard at times. All these mental health issues are much more common than people like to think.
  • Hi All could you please put me down for £250 this month please. I have been keeping a total and have spent £172.57 so far. Have the kids home for 3 weeks and the cupbords need constantly filing. Good luck everyone.

£7.07 spent in Lidl today. Got 5 x packs of the cheese that was on offer (should last me a while), a lettuce and 2 x packs of rye bread.

Adding some on for yesterday too as know I bought some Kettle Chips (mmm!) and other bits, but lost track of exactly what.

I have now spent £37 out of £50 and one day will find the time and energy to edit a signature!

The Dine in for £10 at Markies was a good deal for me this time and a Rottisserie chicken will last several meals for me and soup thereafter. The rest of the shopping was fruit and veg from Aldi and Lidl which still seems to be about half the price of buying elsewhere.

I'm sorry to hear so many people are having a really rough time. I haven't been reading the thread long enough to know the ins and outs of it all, but my hope is that you will all see better days ahead.

    Hi All

I've had a relatively low spend day today - I did want to go to Mr T to use a £2 of £20 voucher which runs out tomorrow, but the trains were cancelled/severely delayed. Due to that I thought I would pop to the little Mr T nearby to me - they had NOTHING I wanted. I just got some milk and some green beans. £2.32 spent in total

Thing is I didn't NEED to go to the supermarket - I've took some beef and some frozen red wine out of the freezer. I had potatoes, so I'm having a Beef and Cranberry sauce stew with mash + green beans.

I've been having a bit of a spring clean day today - got a load of old CDs and DVDs registered with MusicMagpie - will get £21.30 for them. Okay - I could probably get more with eBay, but I haven't got the patience to individually price them up. I've used MusicMagpie before and they send a cheque out to you about 2 weeks later, once they have quality controlled them. Simples! :D

I also received a letter through the post with £20 of Mr S vouchers from one of my survey companies. I have to say - although I always think I'll stop doing surveys, when I get things through the post it re-ignites my interest! Sooo - I've done a few more surveys today. The train delays were probably a sign to day I shouldn't go to Mr T and that I should wait for my Mr S vouchers.

What else - oh yeah - cleaning! If I ever win the lottery I'll definately get a cleaner in! I HATE doing it.

I hope that the weather is okay tomorrow because I've got a picnic planned with friends. If it's not we'll probably go to the pub! :o

Sorry to ramble - just waiting for my dinner now - it smells lovely!
