Personally I think it shows an interesting cross secrtion of some of the people who post on here rather than problems with the OP.

I'm not actually sure the Op would have received much more negativity if she had said I received compo and blew it so I could stay on Incapacity benefit, which has to be the saddest indictment of how modern Britain views each other

What has surprised me is the cries of "Troll" from people who judging by their previous posts on other forums appear to have made money from the property market too.

What is so unbelievable about her story? It is very similar to what my parents did in the 70s except they stopped taking in lodgers a few years after they had children and so had to carry on with their day jobs.

All it shows is that some on here don't recognize a troll when they see one.

Can we stop posting now people!

And of course, there is no question, that you could possibly be wrong? Heaven forbid.

Oh sorry, I forgot, I must be a toll too because I don't agree with the small vocal minority.

what's so wrong with a troll post anyway? It stimulates debate, anything which is factually wrong soon gets corrected by others using a valid link to HMRC website etc and the weight of posts will show who is the most opinionated. Other readers can take or leave each opinion depending on their own level of engagement with the theme of the post to start with.

as regards the now departed OP my comment in #6 stands - each to their own and from their own perspective. It was a lot of money for her given it brought in the same as her previous day job, it isn't much for many of the rest of us. It does not matter whether it was true or a troll post, it is a not unreasonable scenario for a "blue collar" person to be in. As an "inspiring" story it shows how she changed her lifestyle, many of the rest of us consider her new lifestyle as too cash limited and the weight of subsequent posts clealry suggest to all but the frankly stupid (who therefore should learn the lesson by trial and error) that it will be impossible to repeat now.

here's to the next 100,000 views :rotfl:

Exactly, unfortunately, there are one or two posters on here who think that everyone else is too stupid to make their own judgements and have to cry "Troll" as soon as someone says something they don't agree with. And the strange thing is, they keep saying it, surely if it is a troll they shouldn't bother.

Doesn't matter - some of the negativity automatically spouted by some says more than whether or not the OP was lying or not.

Bottom line is she sparked a thread that is still running many pages later. People will stop posting when they have run out of points to make thanks.
Interesting though that you chose to pick on that part of my post rather than the second bit

I like her story, its not amazing but its nice to hear from someone who's got something different to say and she's happy with her life.

This forum is full of regular posters who set out to cause argument and conflict but its their entertainment so I wouldn't get concerned over it.

Perhaps a new thread on why people prefer to work hundreds of hours a week in a dead beat job with all the stress of commuting, deadlines, boss from hell, no recognition, no budgets to do anything with, legislation coming out your ears, petty rules, regulations, and at the end of the month no disposable income at all to show for your strife or
    hmmmm

getting others to pay your bills whilst enjoying a nice relaxing comfortable existence choosing how to spend your day, maybe a walk on the beach,a coffee with friends , pub lunch etc etc .And the luxury of only doing projects that interest, inspire you.

Now honestly how can anyone say the OP is the daft one.:T
