So people can only be happy and share they happiness if they have had 'proper' struggles?! No
She has never claimed to do anything amazing, that is purely down to people's assumption. She called her own story "inspirational", its not.
If it is not that interesting then why post at all?? [/QUOTE]
The story isnt interesting, her reactions to other people disagreeing with her earlier in the thread are both interesting and amusing.0 -

What i find more astounding is people are saying what a decent person she must be and yet she's just accused people who can't manage on a low wage as all being drinkers and smokers, how spiteful is that. Just because like she says her neighbours do it doesn't mean everyone does....
Makes me wonder if hte ones saying hwo wonderful she is have actually read her crticisms or what she has actually said later on...It's amazing how many folks read the first post and don't realise what she has done later on...0 -
I have read most of the posts, and it appears that she was backed into a corner on several occasions. Yes, people get angry and say things in the heat of the moment, but to put someone down because they have shared their story is plain rude. If you don't like something she said, then question that - there is nothing spiteful about her initial post, but that is what people seem to be criticising.0

No one likes a troll. No one likes a smug !!!!!!. And most of all, no one likes a smug troll0 -
I think accusing folks who can't manage on a salary of 10K must be drinkers or smokers isn't a very nice thing to say...;) hardly decent...
She wasn't "accusing" anyone as far as I can see, she was just stating what she assumes and which is probably a fact in a lot of cases:
I can only assume that people who couldn't live on my income are drinking booze and smoking, running cars, paying mortgages and - most wallet-draining of all -- bringing up kids!
I do or have done all the above except smoke and bring up kids and I am not insulted by her saying this is why I couldn't live on her income as it is true. It is my choice to have a car or drink alcohol just as it is her choice not to.0 -
Lots of new posters, you're right! I look forward to them taking a measured response on all the forums around here and not get stuck in a rut on only one or two threads.Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.

People did question what she posted though - they questioned where the inspiration was in the story that seemed to amount to being in a postion to buy a house pre-housing boom and then being able to make a modest living by having in lodgers.
I don't have anything against the OP, sounds like she leads a life she enjoys which is great. But it's a little naive to post a story like that on an internet forum, give it the title it has, call it inspirational and not expect a reaction like this.0 -
WHBT - HAND (We Have Been Trolled - Have a Nice Day)
That was an awesome troll though. Pitched at just the right level, like the old Usenet days. I'd give it 8.9/100
