I've been a lurker on these threads for ages and usually quietly follow along, visiting for inspiration/motivation!

I've read many posts where people say they are sticking to their calories and doing lots of excercise but not losing weight, and now its happening to me! Arghh!

I've recently upped my excercise to 3 times a week (aerobics and body attack classes) occasionaly more - I wonder if this is why i've seen it stop? I have been through reasons such as 1) it must be muscle, muscle weighs more than fat, 2) maybe im not eating enough 3) maybe im still eating too much!

the calorie tracker sites such as boots diets say I should aim for about 1400 kcal/day which I usually reach or am a bit under ( i go for the no S diet approach) and then do my exercise. I've been losing 0.5 - 1 lb a week since about mid feb, but for the past few weeks i keep STS!

its driving me nuts! I know I can do it because I did it before and did it much quicker with a lot less effort!

    xx

    Hi Everyone,
Please can I join this, I'm starting a basic Slimming World plan on Monday as I have nearly 3 stone to lose!!! Have somehow managed to put nearly two stone on in the last six months since our wedding in August 2010. I'm not sure how that has happened as I haven't been eating especially badly, but I used to be a SW consultant so I know this style of eating works for me when I stick to it consistently.
I'm going to have an official WI on Monday morning but I'm guessing I'm currently about 12st 12lbs. Will update with current weight next week and will WI on Sunday mornings after that. Wish me luck and thanks in advance.

    Hi

Well done everyone, you are all doing really well.

I only lost half a pound this week which was quite a disappointment as I worked quite hard. More water and exercise this week for me.

On the plus side now I have lost over a stone and a half in total my clothes are very loose!

    Starting with a clean slate.

    Morning All,

Welcome to all the newbies and hugs for those of us frustrated at not losing despite the exercise etc. I don't know what to suggest, except maybe to drop another 100calories a day, or cut back on carbs and increase your protein intake? I am doing very low carb just now, which is working for me, and not as difficult as I had expected.

WI this morning, another 1kg off, which is 2.2lb. That brings me to over 1 and 1/2 stones since the beginning of March. I had a bad start to the week, and have some PMS just now, so am surprised and delighted by that, and it spurs me on to work harder this week.

Hope you all have a good day.

I was feeling quite excited about jumping on the scales this morning - mr tru has been off work this week, so we've been out and about walking a lot, done loads of heavy gardening and fence building - so I jumped on and the batteries are dead  :rotfl: Will buy batteries today and try again tomorrow.

Yaaaayyyyy....I've lost 1.5lbs :) Am very pleasantly surprised as I'm still not back to full fitness and although I've tried to cut down the snacks a bit I've had a few weak evenings. But it's got me even more motivated seeing the numbers dropping. It's now 4 weeks til I get measured for my dress so really want to focus now
