I didn't know that Be-Ro was a northern food! I am a Geordie and my my mum used Be-Ro all the time and my sister and I have all the Be-Ro cook books and I got one for my DD's when they went to uni. I still use the books, but not the flour! Very interesting! Thanks for the memory moanymoany"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0

My mum and my nan always used Be Ro cook books for cakes etc and has so many childhood memories for me!
I bought one about 3 years ago and I wouldn't be without it. It has all the basic recipes in it and anyone, no matter how little cooking skill they have, can use it.
It's simply fab!:DValue of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

When I was growing up my mum had and constantly used a cookbook produced by Be-ro Flour - the company was founded in Newcastle and I suppose living there it was the local flour supplier.
It was such a brilliant little baking cookbook I made sure I had one when I got married and moved south. Last Christmas I bought an upto date copy of the cook book for myself and also for my daughter and her friends (hard up students). Costing only £1.50 it was a lovely stocking filler and the look of delight on my daughters face when she opened it said everything!
There are loads of recipes on their website - home page is http://www.be-ro.com/index.asp and have fun exploring the recipes and if you want the cook book then go to http://www.be-ro.com/f_about.htm
I would highly recommend it as there is good selection of both old fashioned recipes and more modern ones from baking to cakes and bisuites, sweet as well as savoury with useful tips and information on traditional cooking as well as how to cook using microwave etc.
Enjoy!!!!:j0 -

I was brought up in the 60's, on the other side of the Tyne and every house I knew had a be-ro book. I still havea copy and still use it a lot.
My branch of Morrisons sells the latest edition of the be-ro book for around £1. In the baking section.0
