Thanks everyone.
She's 11, 12 in June. She has already been dumped by her first BF, but I didn't say that it was probably because she's minging and he was trying to not hurt her feelings. Teasing about the dirty shoes turned into 'Everybody hates my shoes because they're stupid' and stropped out in ASDA because I refused to buy her a £3 pair of ankle breakers (she's hypermobile and will end up permanently injured if she wears them) just because they didn't need to be cleaned. The current argument is that there is a hole in the £75 'stupid' shoes - that she chose herself. Probably due to attacking them with a pair of scissors, if I know her - I haven't even looked at them - as she can't get away with the 'they're too small for me!' screeches any more, as all I do is take her to be measured and they say her size hasn't changed.
No mothers' day cards for me again, I suspect.
So I booked an electronic composition workshop for tomorrow evening as my present to myself. He can have the revolting creature and be kept hanging around whilst I travel back, rather than me have to be in for his (and her) convenience. If she's taken her keys, he'll just dump her at the front gate anyway.
Ugh. Should have got a puppy instead. Can't understand why people have children. (Who does that remind me of?)
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I've told my son who is eleven this May that if his washing isn't in the washing basket then it won't get washed. Why should I (and you) pick their dirty washing off the floor as if they were toddlers? When she goes to get dressed for school and there is only dirty stuff she'll soon get the message. As far as her personal hygiene goes I'd ignore it, she's doing it to wind you up and it's workingIgnore the behaviour and hopefully she'll wash eventually. Her friends will soon tell her she's 'minging' as my son calls it. And tidying/cleaning? Her job. I am happy to clean my son's room as long as he tidies it. I'm not at the teenage tantrum stage yet with him but when it gets to that I fully intend to shut the door on the mess and leave him to it. In the hope that eventually he'll get fed up of it. Although right now he's quite OCD-ish so maybe I won't face that problem. You're not her slave and the sooner she realises that the better. Good luck!!!
wot she said. she is winding you up, refuse to be wound.
if she ever does anything good [bet she does] pounce on it and praise it like mad.Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »Ugh. Should have got a puppy instead. Can't understand why people have children. (Who does that remind me of?)

Hello Flyfriends.
Busy day today – been into town, and done loads of errands, including sorting out a new mobile phone contract, £5 a month cheaper than the one that just expired.:money: I'm exhausted now though, and my lovely butterfly rash has come up,:( so I had to put loads of concealer on my face before we went out. So I'm having a quick cup of tea (thanks to Mr LW:A) and a catch-up with Fred.;)
Moogie oh dear, what a situation. I know you want to be supportive of your MIL, but imho inviting herself round to stay the night is pushing your kindness a bit too far.
Seafarers Ah, the joys of married life... you get to share everything..... house, crockery, bed, shirts (yes, I've been known to wear Mr LW's), germs....:D Get well soon! Both of you.
Grateful congratulations on the arrival of Thomas. A little Aries lad, then!
Sexymouse I hope you and Moon are both better before Tuesday; in case I don't think to say it later, have a fabulous day.:o
Jojo sorry, no wise words for dealing with DD; but I can kind of empathise – my KH was like that!
We went out for an hour or so last night, and there was a lovely little Border Terrier in the pub. I'd have loved to have brought him home with me; he was called Hector, and he loved being made a fuss of!:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
