MRs de and DD have gone out for a meal and chat in the town centre-i have showered and shaved which is unusual on Sunday but i am trying to smartedn up my act and do things that make Mrs De happy!

She went to a shrink the other day and was told she has a form of severe anxiety caused by events over the past 2 years and (probably) middle age creeping up--its hard for me to say the right thing at the moment!!--she wont take the meds that she was prescribed which i dont agree with and there starts the disagreements! DD has realised mum is stressed at last and is being less stress making to her -today she was just tired instead of the usual teenage drama queen 'ill' but DH still pushed her out of the door to get her on the way to college! -they will be home soon.

İ have logged a thread that i am starting to be MFW --its the new financial year and i have a target of clearing my mortgage by 2014 when i am 51--then i can wind down on the work front -fingers crossed! --anyone who wants to share tips or motivate me please shout up! --who else here is targetting their mortgage?
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

    Afternoon everyone

Just popped on to say to De1amo sorry to hear about Mrs D-has she considered the Linden Method? I understand that it can be very helpful for anxiety. Have a look at their website.

    Best wishes

Washing hung up, another lot out and ready to be hung in a minute.

DW unloaded and put away and loaded and on again. Having problems with the Aldi DW tablets. They are not disolving properly or they get stuck in their little flappy door compartment. So I am having to put everything through again. Any one got any ideas on how to deal with it?

    Hi...Daily thread lurker here :)

Try putting the tablet in the cutlery basket, you might be able to use them up with half decent results. I prefer branded DW detergent, I always find supermarket brands less effective or like this one just dont dissolve well. HTH

Happy Birthday Kazzaw - Have a good one.

I too was going to suggest putting the DW tablet in the cutlery tray, some tablets seem too big for my DW so it has to go in with the cutlery. I have to admit to using the cheapest DW tablets I can find and then only use half. It makes no difference to the wash at all, although our water is ultra soft.

Managed an hour in the garden this afternoon, the weather is beautiful. 2 loads of washing dried outside and veggie plot nearly ready for planting. I will buy plants this year as seeds and me don't get on! Also cleaned out the fridge from top to bottom (it is a very tall larder fridge) so that is sparkling, along with the kitchen cupboards. Threw out some mugs that have seen better days and one or two packets/jars of out of date stuff (hangs head in shame!).

Hope you have all had a good sunday, enjoy the lighter evening! Take care. XX

Smeeinnit and Camelot, thanks for the tip, will try it on the next wash. We have mega hard water, it's revolting, I have to put all water through a water filter.

Just reporting in after our fabulous day!

Yep, we headed to the Borders and St Mary's Loch but went the mystery tour way after taking an 'alternative' turn. The weather has been glorious so a different route wasn't any trouble. We had some indifferent food at the Glen Cafe (new management :( ) and then had an ice-cream tub at the end of the water. The place was, as usual, over-run with bikers stopping for some nosh - I love seeing loads of bikers together and wish I had the figure to wear leathers. ;)

Then the long way home trying really hard to avoid the M74 (easy) and the A69 (not quite so easy) and saw some interesting sights - even found ourselves at a Urkaine POW chapel which wasn't quite my style but fascinating to find.

Chinese takeaway and white wine now just to round off the day - but only after putting clean sheets on the bed!

Have done a speed read of the thread and see a smattering of birthdays, Sunday lunches, family get-togethers, new fencing, old chickens, clock problems, new recipes and happy times. Night everyone!

    Evening All,

Just about recovered from our busy wkend. Nice to see the family and wish mum and dad a good trip. They go off to Australia for 6 wks on Tuesday. So we gave dad his birthday presents for tomorrow and mum her mothers day pressies as she will be away. The food went down well and nobody noticed I wasn't eating the pies:D

My nephew came today who is has aspergers. A lovely lad. I don't see him often as his mum and dad are divorced. He is 21 now and a happy soul but finds it difficult around my DS2 who is also 21 as he constantly compares himself, height, weight, girlfriends work etc. He must have enjoyed it though as my brother rang later to say he had enjoyed himself:)

Everyone finally left around 6 ish and after a quick tidy I have been collapsed on the couch recovering. Anway off to bed, hopefully to sleep as I spent most of last night looking at the clock.

    Sweet Dreams
