Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 27th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Been up since 5 & have been knitting a couple of dishcloths, plans for today include cooking Sunday lunch, roast lamb with all the trimmings & maybe some gardening. DD rang asking me to babysit, seems the social worker didn't have the courtesy to let her know I 'wasn't suitable'.
The GP is starting soon so I'm going to watch that.
Have a good day everybody.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning Hester and all to follow,
That social worker does not sound up to her job. I hope she moves on as soon as possible.

Grey and overcast here at the moment. But the forecast is OK so I hope to get a washload out on the line later.

Made some wholemeal, multigrain bread yesterday evening. Haven't tried it yet. It is rather a strange or interesting shape!

Yesterday we had fajitas. This is the third time they've eaten my fajita spice mix. I didn't quite have enough and so made a little new batch. Had lots of comments as I had made it slightly hotter than the first big batch. Verdict from DSIL & DGSs was - the best fajitas ever:) Will make up a new big batch today - I usually make 8oz spice mixes.

Today we are having beef pot-roast with a big hm Yorkshire pudding (3 egg) and all the trimmings.

There will be more work in the garden. DH is brilliant at growing our veg seedlings and we have lots of little babes to look after.

Happy Sunday everyone, hugs to all who need or want,
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

    Morning

HH - Can't believe she's not even told your DD

My do i ache today....we emptied the lofts, moved the big shed, loaded car for tip, went to B & Q, went and bought, layers, corn, sawdust, had some lager and curry ;).

Yes i've remembered to put the clocks forward too .

Today more "in the garden" need to paint veggie planters, put perches in hen house, set it up sawdust etc, DH has to make said perches, slidy door for hens, rain shelter, chicken wire around side of fence....that should keep him busy :D. Y'day he had to cheek to say "Clare Rome wasn't built in a day" my response " No but if women were in charge out it maybe it would" :o:rotfl:.

Will post after pics RR ;).

Tea today, Roast pork, new pots, salad and dressing.

    Have lovely days xx

Morning all, had hoped that by not putting the clocks forward that I might have had a lie in - but my little alarm clocks went off all by themselves. The only thing to be thankful for was that it was 6.30 today, not 5.30!! What is it with boys and getting up early? Perhaps they get it from their Mum!! Yesterday was a very productive day. We tidied and weeded the garden, planted the potatoes, mended the decking, built a shed for the wood, did loads of washing and moved what felt like half a ton of stones into the front garden. I also did loads of sawing up of the wood for the fire. My arm is really telling me about it today.

Today will zip to the local market to get cheap fruit and veg, might go to church (the only place where I get a bit of peace!) and I suspect that OH will want to take the children swimming. WM already spun so better put it out, have one complete load of bedding to wash (youngest had wet bed again!). Then will have the largest pile of ironing ever to do!

Have a good day all - hope the sun comes out as washing must be line dried. White vinegar works a treat!!! Dinner will be something from the freezer I imagine, if I can dive to the bottom xx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning everyone - what a glorious day too! I've slept the sleep of the 'just' and feel all the better for it, even though I had a couple of extra hours yesterday afternoon.

All the clocks in the house change automatically except the one in the bathroom - and that's now reading the correct time as it's been left an hour ahead since October. Well, we know it's an hour ahead so need to change it though it does temporarily frighten visitors. So, now the house is balanced again!

I think today we will head outdoors for a drive north'ish. Can't resist going out when the weather is so lovely, I shall make loud noises to rouse OH from his pit.

Bacon and eggs for breakfast is the only definite plan for today. We shall go where the winds take us and eat what the winds provide! :rotfl::rotfl: Knowing my luck it'll be a pokey hat at St Mary's Loch. :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day too.

    Morning all

Didn't sleep very well last night, kept waking up.

Got up at 7am (new time) and put the Formula 1 on :D stayed in bed for an hour and am now making breakfast and about to start packing for London. Taxi booked for 10.30, train at 10.55. It's a 3.5hour journey so have packed lunch, book, magazines and ipod all ready. I love going on the train so I'm happy!

Once I get to London I'm checking into my hotel at Euston and then going to Camden Market to meet my friend :j She is one of the ones I did Camp America with 3 years ago. Then I'm going to my cousin and his wife's for dinner. I don't see them very often so that will be nice.

I'm going to London for a 2 day training course. My boss is coming too but she getting later train.

I'll be MIA til Weds so have a good week all

    Good Morning All

Grey & miserable here at the moment, hope the sun makes an appearance soon. Want to get outside in the garden.

Today am off to a local bootsale, garden centre then home for some pottering. Need to plant my seeds have a tidy up in the garden, do some washing and ironing.

Have roast pork for dinner today with all the trimmings - can't wait. Don't seem to have had a home cooked roast for ages.

Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.x
