morning all
Silvermaid, thankyou for the recipe, will make a batch of that up and test it on my lot next weekend!
Definitely cooler here today, but am hopeful it will brighten up. Didn't post yesterday, as it turned into a busier day than planned.
DD is going to be bridesmaid for a close friend of ours in september, and so we had to go dress shopping yesterday. my DD was so patient, she must have been in and out of nigh on 30 dresses! As she is the oldest bridesmaid at 14, the bride is keen for her to look fab, and the two little ones she is having (who couldn't be there yesterday) will look cute in anything. DD looked gorgeous in every dress, so tough decision. Anyway, they are chosen now, thank goodness.
I drove out to the farm shop at 2pm but it was closed - no signs up saying when they opened, so will have to ring them to see. Can't understand why places close when people are available to shop!
Today, DH has gone carbooting, with instructions to bring me a present back! DD has some money she inherited last year, and after much thought has decided she wants a laptop of her very own, so we have agreed to take her to get it this morning. She has a PC, but its been on its way out for a long time, and it is something she will need going in to her GCSE year. Sensible decision - i'd have gone for bags and shoes!
Then I hope DH will crack on with the painting, and I'll be freecycling some of the unwanted stuff from her room - like the PC desk!
will cook a joint of gammon that we can have with salad and potatoes for lunch, several loads of washing to do - hopefully get some on the line/clothehorse later.
happy sunday all! x0 -
No HW to do :j (well only a bit and I'm ignoring it!). Bit of an iron mountain to tackle at some point.
Study this morning and walking doglet later - need to have rummage in the freezer as I don't feel like cooking much. Got two trays of reduced mushrooms yesterday so need to make soup.
Wish it would be sunny again
. Managed to have a decentish sleep last night to compensate for the lost hour - hope it will last through the day!
Happy Sundays all

Hi again,
Redruby - I think it would work very well with a veggie stock cube.
My little lovelies have over the last couple of years come to enjoy stronger flavours and heats, so that is what the fajita spice recipe caters for. If you are not sure, you can reduce the amount of chilli, so the mix will be tasty but not hot. I would say that this spice mix is medium, i.e. neither mild nor hot.
Hope that helps, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning girls,
Very slow start this morning, just couldn't get motivated.
DH and the littlies have just left for the allotment.
I have got a load of washing off the airers, folded and sorted. Another lot on the airer, load in the WM.
Need to get the DW sorted and the weekly online shop done.
Had a look at doing an Approved Food order last night as I usually spend about £35 and with free P&P it would have been worth it but I could only come up with an order for £10.50 so I didn't bother.
Silver, thanks for the spice mix recipe.
Happy Birthday Kazzaw, hope you have lovely day.
ETA: Washing out of the machine and hung on airers. WM on again. DW sorted and on again. I hope by the end of the day that I will have caught up with the backlog.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Afternoon all
Been awake since oh-my-god o'clock - littlies don't know clocks have gone forward! - and have finally done some housework (yeuch!)
Washing up ALL DONE :j, washing on line, chilli simmering for tea, DS (3) gone out with his auntie for the aft. Having lunch in a mo, then got to plant out apple trees I got yesterday - for £10.50 I got 2 apple trees, with stakes, two garlic plants & 3 strawberry plants!
Got census form to do & magazine stitching to start, plus Mount Ironing, but we may go out for a bit as I've seen the round yellow ball has come to visit! :rotfl:
Have a good Sunday, hugs & kisses all round.

Hello all

Happy birthday for yesterday NPM. I love Laurosse Gastronomique; it's a great book!
Welcome claudiac
We offered on the house we saw yesterday. I am scared now :rotfl: It's covered in mould, needs a new kitchen, a new bathroom, the garden looks like a bulldozer has been through it, it backs onto a park, fronts onto a primary school and the upstairs bay windows haven't been sealed properly. It's a repo - so none of the utilities are connected, the radiators will need work before they are switched on and there are wires hanging out of the front of it. Everything is covered with do not use tape. No carpets, no flooring in one room... And it's painted in terracotta, frog-sick green and baby-fear blue.
But it has a stone fireplace in the living room and french doors from the kitchen into the garden, Georgain windows and the largest open plan kitchen we've seen so far.
Should be fun
It's a project
:rotfl: We turned up to view it yesterday the EA had bought two other people with her (as she had been showing them around a nother house and it was on the way back to teh office for her). They walked in and freaked out when they saw all the mould and literally made their apologies and ran :rotfl: You can tell I'm from a family of tradesmen
Mould was upstairs. I am not scared of upstairs mould
As we left, the EA asked me if I was surveyor or at least worked in property
:rotfl: :rotfl:
OH scuppered my random item use challenge yesterday when he walked in with a catering tin of pears to replace the one I'd used. *sigh*
Need to make more sausageless rolls tonight - this time with a spicy aduki bean, kidney bean and pea filling
Only 100 g of aduki beans left. Oh has been instructed never to bring them in the house ever again.
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Got this weeks online shop done and there is a load out of the machine (which I will hang after lunch) and the WM is going again.
Just off to get me some lunch
Then I will sit and surf :T BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Washing hung up, another lot out and ready to be hung in a minute.
DW unloaded and put away and loaded and on again. Having problems with the Aldi DW tablets. They are not disolving properly or they get stuck in their little flappy door compartment. So I am having to put everything through again. Any one got any ideas on how to deal with it?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
