Just don't use lovefilm - lets spread the word and put these guys out of business - they are advertising under fales pretences and taking thousands of people for £10 - the DVD rental is a front - this company is racketering - the previously good https://www.dvd.co.uk - ate the latest to get into bed with lovefilm - the results are the same ....

I signed up - couldn't quite follow the screens - so logged out before making my 10 selections - when I enquired about my voucher I was told i should have selected 10 items before logging out - and because I didn't I was in breach of the free voucher offer

....it gets worse....I smelt a rat ...i tried to limit my losses by swithing to the lowest price package £4.99 - they immediatley debited this from my account - when queried, they said even though I was on a free trial - the fact that i switched package - halted the free trial .....

    it gets worse.....................
ok cancel my account I said ......we can't you have some DVD'S of oursd - no i don't I said - yes you do we have posted them today ...we can not cancel until they are returned.

PLEASE MARTIN DON'T PLUG THE FREEBIES BY LOVEFILM - IT ISN'T A DVD RENTAL COMPANY ....IT IS RACKETEERING

I would urge everyone who has been duped by lovefilm - to fight for there moneyback....I am not bothered about the £5 - But I will fight to get it back in the hope that everyone does the same - because this is how lovfilm is making money...

dont give up after MUCH emailing and lots of excuses from lovefilm (now called hate film in my opinion!) i have received my vouchers.. well actually i received them twice!! they said allow 28 days and i did nothing had come so i sent another stroppy email demanding them by return and i got them, then the others came a few days later £30 thanks HATEFILM!! i also emailed BOOTS who are very sympathetic and are aware of LF abusing their (BOOTS) good name. so if all else fails contact BOOTS! now called LOVE BOOTS in my house!! It might not be long. I had completely given up after getting vouchers from Boots, but then the lovefilm ones finally turned up! I hope everyone else gets both boots vouchers, and boots vouchers from lovefilm, just to compensate everyone for all the effort they've put in.

As one of the earlier posters to this thread, I've watched its progress and sympathised and celebrated in turn with other contributors. But I haven't posted recently because I 've been waiting to see just how long it would take Lovefilm to fulfil its contractual obligations.

Well, that's finally occurred today, April 18 2007, with the receipt of a £10 and £5 Boots voucher as per the terms of the Lovefilm offer to which I signed up on November 29th 2006.

That's 130 days since Lovefilm promised:
6 Free DVD rentals direct to your door
PLUS £15 Boots voucher when you register
    Exclusive offer worth over £35

It's only taken three emails from me to Lovefilm to get the vouchers (though none to Boots: I was more interested in monitoring Lovefilm's behaviour than exerting pressure for fifteen quidsworth of incentive) and there's been no attempt by Lovefilm to dispute my qualifying suitability.

Just. . . a wait of 130 days. For something which Lovefilm explicitly stated would be available "when you register". And which then changed to 28 days. Then 28 working days. Then 30 days. Then 10 - 20 days. Then then then then. . .

Conclusion: this may not have been as costly a corporate fiasco as the Hoover free flights to the USA. But it's certainly inflicted serious damage on Lovefilms' reputation and massively undermined consumer confidence. And what it's done for Lovefilms' relationship with existing and prospective commercial partners like Boots, God only knows.

The overwhelming impression, accurate or not, is that Lovefilm International tried it on with consumers. And failed miserably.

Goodbye Lovefilm. Though I can't say it was nice to know you, as an MSEr, I can say that not dealing in any way shape or form with this company will be one of the wisest money-saving strategies a sensible consumer can ever undertake.

I just had mine and it took a similar time. NEVER again. The effort of multiple emails and just not giving up ...

not as far as I can see, they are standard Boots vouchers(same as you used to get in shops before giftcards) 1 = £10 & 1 = £5
just says cannot be used online, cannot be exchanged for cash, change to be given by giftcard.
