#36 supersaverdude:
As I understood it from preceding posts, the period that this free trial offer is running for ends on December 31st 2006. The actual free trial is of lesser duration: three weeks from date of "signing up". The number of "free" DVDs is 6.
I've signed up and made my selection and received an email just now from LoveFilm stating:
First payment date: December 20, 2006 (earlier if your 7th disc rental is before this date)
Subscription package: DVD - 1 Disc - £9.99/month
So yes, it's 6 DVDs on free loan, no more than 1 DVD at home at any one time, and three weeks to go before the subscription fee kicks in.
No confirmation from Boots, but the voucher is promised within 30 days of LoveFilm registration.
Can't understand why you've been told in your email today that your subscription kicks in on December 13th, i.e., two weeks from now instead of three. . .0 -

I tried this before with screenselect when they were offering a £5 boots voucher. Quidco traked but it was later declined - the reason was because I had used a promotional offer and I couldn't have both the offer & cashback. I never received by boots voucher, but did get 6 dvds to watch0 -
Hi,
Just signed up for lovefilm and I was wondering if I need to receive at least one dvd to be eligible for the boots voucher or can i cancel the subscription without receiving any?!
Thanks,
Kate0 -

aghhh!! i am fuming!
ok - so i registered with lovefilm this aft, put in my debit card details etc etc, was told my account would take a while to activate as they need to verify my debit card- fine.
so in the meantime off i go, and see a book on amazon - go to check my bank balance before buying it- AND LOVEFILM HAVE TAKEN £20 OUT OF MY ACCOUNT!!!
First instinct- to ring lovefilm- they have no contact number- tried googling and allsortsSo I had to be content with a strongly worded email
Now I know that this is probably just to verify my account, and no doubt they will put the £20 back, but that money is earmarked for direct debits which are due in a day or so! And what if my account had been empty? I would have been getting charges from the bank!
I may have been a bit blase' when I signed up, but Im pretty sure it didnt tell me that theyd be taking £20 out of my account!
If it does say that somewhere really obvious please ignore this post whilst I sit in the cornerI don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

No way should any organisation be taking an unauthorised twenty quid out of someone's bank account in order to run a confirmation check.
If that's what LoveFilm have done, then it's a criminal cheek.
Confirms are generally run to verify bank accounts / credit card accounts and the debit is from around 20p to under two quid.
Hopefully, this has been an honest mistake by LoveCash. LoveFilm. And it should've been 20p.
If, however, it was intentional, then I trust everyone on this thread will encourage others to sign up to the offer and cancel after their six free DVDs.
