I too have been stocking up on things I would normally have (shampoo different brand as no-one is discounting Aussie range) such as shampoo, sanitary products, wine, fabric conditioner, showergel as I see it as a way to not have to buy these on a normal shop. The odd airfreshener, crisps and pancake batter (which I also use) has crept in however.

Agree with you and I am hoping to go DTD Neutral this week (like carbon neutral - my vouchers earnt offset my spend!)

It is not worth it unless the items are cheaper than what you would normally buy - like if you buy value.

That said I have too stocked up on Pancake mix - I have decided they will be great when we go camping. At 99p profit you could just give them away though!

    Hi

Just had a look at the spreadsheet and I think the value column is the wrong way round - i.e for Thorntons egg it should show 100% value? Is this what everyone else thinks? I tjhought it was a really good idea to have this as I have been targeting items more than 50% off because I reckon those must definitely beat any other store - not just Asda:D
    what spreadsheet???!!!

Totally agree about some thinking they are getting more than they actually are.

However I have purchased several rounds of DTD trolleys for the one initial outlay. Yes I know the original outlay was overpriced, but I have made sure that we have only got things we will use eventually, plus a few treats along the way. For example, I know that my regular shops in the future will benefit from not having to buy shampoo and toilet cleaner for a while :D.

Also I fully intend, when this promotion finishes - and it will, to use my final set of vouchers on a trolley of regular shopping that I would buy anyway, so re-couping my initial extravagant outlay. :T

    great post :)

Funnily enough, thats exactly what I am going to do with the pancake mix, take it camping. Should make excellent breakfasts!

I have kept a spreadsheet of all my DTD usage, and I have done very well out of this promotion. All things I would buy anyway - plug ins (got smelly cats!), dry cat food, fabric conditioner, washing liquid, wine, cereal, cereal bars, beans, frozen pizzas and razors (for my spiky legs!!). Most of these items I probably will not have to buy again until next year now, so a definite saving when I go back to weekly shopping.

I have stuck to the value of the voucher, trying to pay only £1 max on top of it to try and get the best value.

Saying all of that, I did go to Morrisons today to do a "proper" food shop, as there is lots of things I needed that aren't on DTD at tesco, and I don't want to give tesco a single penny more than I need to!
  • I can't get the blooming price checker to work for my online shop last week, anyone else having trouble?
