Hi V - hope you had a good birthday! Thanks for the marathon comment - I can't believe it is only just over a week ago.....bizarre how time feels at the mo!

Have had a lovely evening with a girlfriend - eating out and having a catch up....much needed, and lovely to be able to do.

Hopefully will be able to get some decent sleep tonight.....time will tell!!

  • evening, hope you have a lovely few days off :)

know what you mean about the time front - I had Final Score on the other day while tackling the dressing table, and heard that last minute Norwich goal come in just as they switched to the ground there - thought of you and meant to post, and now the time has flown!

hope the sleep gets better too x

Thanks LHG - one more day to get through at work before days off....plenty packed in this weekend though, so must factor in some down time too!

Morning all, just one more day to get through.....! We are so short of staff here today that either the day will whizz by because it is nicely busy, or it will be the day from hell as I try to cover too many people as their clients call.....

Slept ok, until 5ish, so that will do.....at least I don't need to put my alarm on tomorrow morning, so very much looking forward to that.

I hope you all have a good day!

Morning all.....hope you are all ready for another long weekend, I know I am!

Not too fussed about "the" wedding (strike me down for saying so)....but one of my colleagues is invited as a friend of the couple (were at uni together I think) so the secretaries in the office have been buzzing all week about the fact that he is going. I pity the poor chap when he returns to work next week as he will be bombarded with a million questions from the typing pool!

Of course, I do wish the royal couple well......and I *am* very grateful for the extra day off :p

So, today I have another massage booked in - this one paid for by ex as part of my marathon recovery process.....so very MSE for me. I am looking forward to it, and could quite get used to this sort of thing once a week (if only!).

Last night we caught up with some friends from Devon - they don't visit this area very often now, and I haven't seen or spoken to them since we split.....and because they were always friends of ex rather than of mine, I was a bit anxious about going, but am glad I did - was lovely to see them, catch up, no animosity (not that there should be, but you never know if friends take "sides") and the kids all had a good time. Last time I saw them she was heavily pregnant, so it was lovely to see her youngest for the first time. Another box ticked in this process that is my life!

So, have a good day, enjoy your wedding parties if you are having them, and enjoy your day off if you get it too.
    xx

Glad you had a lovely night, it can be a bit odd when the friends are more ex's etc. I was very friendly with XOH's twin sister, and also his older sister and knew them both before I met him, and that was quite awkward when we split for all of us.

I'm not particularly bothered about the wedding, but Mum has just rung to say her telly's broke, so suspect I'll have to go and get her as she'll want to watch it.

It was one of those moments, gill, when I had two choices - the easy one which was to make an excuse and not go, or the more difficult one which involved actually making an effort :o

Thankfully, the right choice was made, and the digging deep I had to do for a few minutes before walking out of my front door was well worth it.

and of course there was no awkwardness whatsoever when we got there....so perhaps I shouldn't have got myself so worked up about it in the first place but.....!!
