First race day of the weekend done and dusted, and am home again ready to do it all again tomorrow! spends were kept to a minimum, due to both DD and I being "officials" and therefore being entitled to free food and drinks, so all good there.

Also managed day two (so far) of no carbs, so am pleased with that - hopefully day three will not see me climbing up the walls craving sugar and I will start feeling better again!

All in all, not a bad day. Tired, but an evening on the sofa can soon be incorporated.....

How come you're doing no carbs, Hypno, I thought your weight had been stable for ages?

It was - and generally speaking I have few bad carbs in my diet which helps keep it stable. It is how I feel most comfortable so it is no hassle for me to eat this way, keeping it all in moderation.

But in the lead up to the marathon, I increased the carbs, because I was increasing my milage hugely, and I needed that extra.....unfortunately, the sugar fiend in me came out and I ate lots of bad carbs too - pastries, sweets, biscuits etc.....and 2 days before the marathon I felt really ill on it.

Marathon day was fine, though, and of course I had a superb personal result, so I am very happy, but since then I have just craved sugar and couldn't seem to stop eating. This leads me to feel bloated, and lethargic and just generally uncomfortable.

So, it it not necessarily a weight thing - although if I keep eating like that, I will be back to where I was 18 months ago - but it is more a case of taking control of that sugar demon again, and reminding my body that I am back to "normal" running, and can manage without it again.

So far so good - am at the end of day 2 and was able to resist the delicious pastries on offer at the ski club today, which is a minor miracle in itself.

I already feel less bloated, which is a lot more comfortable, so it is doing what it needs to do!

I have had so long at my weight being stable, I don't want to let this get out of control.....I like wearing my "thin" clothes :D

Just been watching BGT - the last boy on, Ronan, goes to my Son's school and his brother and DS are in the same class. Everyone has been buzzing about him being on the show for a while now, but OMG, just how good was he!!

    That is *real* talent!

I think he was genuinely amazed at the reaction he got. I really hope he goes all the way in the competition! Think of the buzz they will get out of it at school!

All my son's facebook friends have gone crazy!!

I think he could certainly get as far as the finals....it would be superb if he did really well.

The school have a talent show each year but ITV banned him from being in it as part of his "contract" with BGT.....we knew then that he was expected to do fairly well in the show!!
