Hi All,
Many thanks for the input- not sure if it makes any difference but its the roof inside that i'm cleaning mainly :eek::eek:
Hypno - sounds like good progress is being made on the house with things being sorted out into their own place and :T:T:T for table and chairs on your patio.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Thanks, I want to have a decent quality table and chairs this time, having made do with cheap flimsy stuff in the past, so will start the hunt for it, and hope it can be delivered in the next couple of weeks so I can make the most of it over the rest of the summer (assuming the weather lasts of course!).
It needs to be something that can stay out all year round, as being in a terrace, getting stuff from the back into the garage to store is a bit of a faff....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I found a patio set I loved in Homebase and then searched for it on the internet, finding it on eBay, which saved me almost £150
I then bought a patio set cover which has kept it safe over the winter.
It was still expensive but I wanted a large table and chairs that could be adjusted so they could be used as deckchairs as well as for sitting at the table. It also came with a HUGE umbrella but no base (I am still looking for a bargain one).:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Sounds ideal, maty! My patio (apart from my small balcony) is the only outside space I have, so I need to ensure that it does everything it needs to do all year round without being overcrowded with "stuff", so finding the right patio set is going to be crucial! Too small and it will only be useful for the three of us but no good for entertaining - too big and it will take up a huge amount of the available space leaving no room for us to move around!
I also want a chiminea for the evenings.
I do so love this house - and the early glimpse of summer really has reaffirmed that it was the right thing to do moving here!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Which can double up as an incinerator for getting rid of paperwork that you don't want to place in the bin so also does away with a shredder. Very MSEI do so love this house - and the early glimpse of summer really has reaffirmed that it was the right thing to do moving here!
That comes through in so many posts :T It is great to hear how well you have already settled in :j
By the way, they have asked me to stay at work until September so more money in the pot :j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Maty that is excellent news on the job front!
Re the house, I have to admit that it has even surprised me somewhat, just how much difference it has made to us all being here. It really has surpassed all expectations so far, and although I knew it was the right move for us, I am absolutely delighted with the way it has all turned out so far.
Life is, in so may ways, so good. There are still things that can be worked on of course, nothing is "perfect" but for now it is pretty darned good. kids are happy, I am happy, cat is happy, the sun is shining, I still fit into my size 10 jeans, I ran a marathon quicker than I have ever done before, and smiles and laughter are aplenty.

Well done Maty moo on the job front.
I am really enjoying the positivity of your posts Hypno- i definitely think that is one thing i have always enjoyed about your threads- you refuse to let anything grind you down, and show determination and persistence in everything you do.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
thanks LHG and bob - I guess I just saw that I have two choices - and I didn't like the alternative prospect!
Of course, I have had some pretty bleak times, but then we all have those, and you have to have them and deal with them in order to appreciate the better times and to keep things well and truly in perspective.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Weighed myself last night. 97.7Kg, up from 95Kg last month. This despite my new job involving a lot of walking between factories (about 1/4 mile) and going up and down stairs.
Will be taking my camera when I go to my parents this afternoon, then going for a stroll through the woods.Never Knowingly Understood.
