Thanks - had a lazy day yesterday, apart from an hour or so housework and cooking a roast for dinner. The same will be the order of the day again today I think, ready for heading back to work tomorrow.

No plans for spending today, and had a NSD yesterday - all helps in getting back on track after hols!

Have a good bank holiday, whatever you are doing x

And nice to be back......I do love my home etc etc, so unlike the dread of hols in the past, I was quite happy to walk back through the front door :)

That said, we really *did* need the holiday - after everything that has happened in the last year or so, we didn't really realise just how much we had "kept going", until faced with the chance do do just nothing! And of course that all came on the back of several years of extra work for MSE purposes etc, so it really was a welcome break for us all.

If anyone wants a recommendation for a campsite on the french riviera, just let me know - I couldn't fault it in anyway at all. Location, facilities, standard of mobile homes, price etc etc. Will definitely be revisiting and using it as a base again.

Have checked online banking and moved a bit of money around to cover bills for the month - at one point, that was the only account I could use abroad, so needed replenishing. I also bought some of my Dior moisturiser etc duty free, which needed covering....but it was slightly cheaper than in Debenhams, and I am on the last bit of the pots so not such a rash purchase as it sounds!

I have also told DS he can go to a glacier to train in October half term - this will be his only training this year, and may even be his only chance to ski, so I am happy for him to go - £800 to find.....and another pot is started!

Yes please to the french riviera recommendation, I'm trying to consider as many options as possible while planning a holiday for next year, no idea where, how or when yet but somehow there will be a holiday ;)

We went to Camping du Pylone in Biot near Antibes. Here is the Tripadvisor page

All the mobile homes are owned privately, so you approach the owners directly, rather than pay Keycamp or Eurocamp prices. Just google Camping du pylone and all the owners will appear -they all replied to me very quickly when I made my enquiries.

Prices vary according to season, of course, but I thought they were very very good, especially when comparing with prices in the UK!

We drove down, but it is only 6 miles from Nice airport with pretty much door to door train service, and most of the low cost airlines go there - it is def what I would do next time.

Biot was 3 mins by train away from Antibes, and about 10-15 mins away from Cannes so dead easy to explore.....and of course that whole coastline is just beautiful.

oh, and next to the campsite is Marineworld, a big Adventure Golf thing, and Aquasplash which was a big water park. You can get pretty good deals on tickets to keep the costs down rather than buying individually on each visit.

Hi hypno - thanks for stopping by on my thread :) - Yes i thought your team did well and played well on Saturday from the highlights i saw of the game :D

Your holiday sounds lovely - just what was needed and by all accounts definitely the right decision to come home a day early. Alos looks like you have a nice plan of relaxing and pottering today which is just whats needed before getting back into the swing of things.
