Well done mackeroo and enjoy your holiday:T I'd put on 3lbs last week:eek: and dreading this week's club. Holidays and diets just don't mix. I need to check the diary too but I really think I need to up my target. I've been going for 10 for a while as that's my absolute bottom line which I always try to exceed. I'm comfortable with that but perhaps I need a challenge??

Thanks maman, im sure you will get that 3lb off pretty soon, as my leader says, losing weight isnt a race its a journey, which i have to say ive adopted as my mantra. Im hoping that this will be the last time im losing weight, im a typical yo yo dieter and always lose a couple of stone a year and then put it all back on again:mad: this year will be different. Good luck x

    20 Af please Shaggy
Lost 3 and a half at fat class this week :j well chuffed. Enjoyed a day of cooking/baking new things as got friend coming tomorrow for lunch and dinner so good excuse to get in the kitchen and cook up a storm. I made olive and sundried tomato bread rounds and the amazing thing is they looked like the picture from the baking mag which is always a good start. :D

Spent some time in the garden soaking up the sun and wasnt tempted to have a drink which was unusual so i pondered why this may be as a couple of days ago i couldnt resist temptation. And this is my theory...today i said to myself if i want to have a drink then i will.....i chose not to.:A Previous times when ive caved in is when i tell myself that i cant have a drink and then that makes me want one all the more. I dunno if this makes sense, even to myself but it worked for me today and for that im grateful
    Nite everyone

2 AF on the challenge and 15AF please Shaggy x

Mackeroo- That totally makes sense to me! I almost always cave on the days I am adamant I wont drink and on the days were I might have one, I tend not to drink.

    Night everyone x

Lornadoone recently I have been quite honest and said that I am just cutting right back on my drinking and trying to keep in within the recomended guidlines. This has had some intresting effects, notably that others seem to abstain/ drink less if I do (not sure what this say's about me...)!

Must get some chores done, then I may get to put my feet up later!

    Take care,

    Mari xx

Hi Mari, I think you are so right. There's always that one person who gives others food for thought by their honesty. I am not ashamed but proud to have made this decision really. And I'm grateful to all of you for simply being here and providing motivation.

Wasn't AF last night - but woke up with a massive hangover this morning after drinking my "old" "normal" amount. Clearly the not drinking is helping me to become a bit of a lightweight - which is good. The other "good" thing about it is it served to put me off drinking rather than serving as a reminder that it is something miss and crave for.

Back on the AF tonight - so that's 21 AFDs for me this month

Still pondering about the May target. Perhaps I should go all in for the full 31 days, but that leaves no room for manoeuvre. Perhaps I shouldn't run before I can walk....

Definitely agree that tolerance levels drop eca00opc after having AF days. I find it helps me to drink moderately. I hate that dehydrated, hungover feeling and to think that was how I used to feel most mornings:eek:

Well done on the weightloss mackeroo. I'm definitely taking the scenic route but as I've lost so much a few pounds on doesn't show but I know. This is my first ever diet and I intend it to be my last too so sticking to the AF weekdays is an enormous help. And all down to this thread (and a little will power from me:o).

13AF please Shaggy and 2 for the School Night Challenge please Bearacus.

Still thinking about my target for May, Shaggy, but will post it soon. You are sooooo kind to keep scoring for us, thank you so much:A.
  • Morning all. that's 20AF for me Shaggy and target met. Will squeeze another one in before month end I'll wager. My usual 20 for May please. Thanks for doing the honours once again. Please accept virtual commemorative Wills & Kate teaspoon for your troubles.

Lornadoone, I am finding that saying "I just don't feel like drinking" and leaving it at that is good enough for most people.
