Hi hope you dont mind me asking but how do you all manage to not fold and give into the alcohol when all your friends are pushing you to have a drink? I really need a couple of good one liners or good vibes to get me through the royal street party scenario.
All suggestions are really welcome...thanks ever so much

Expect a few dropped jaws as most of us on here are well known amongst our friends for being first in the queue to the bar!;) You're right to be prepared as you have to be determined to get over that initial reaction. If the party's in your own street then saying you've volunteered to drive won't work on this occasion but that's a good one. I'd favour part of a healthy eating plan/losing weight as a reason but then you'll have to keep away from the sausage rolls too:rotfl:What about too many empty calories and you'd rather save them for the food? I'm sure someone will be along with more serious ways of handling it but I find a light approach works well for me.0 -

Haha that made me laugh...they all know I love my food and wine...ooh I might have to do some white lying and say I am on medication and cant mix with alcohol.....wish I had some balls to say 'I am alcohol free for the next 5 weeks now bog off'!!!1st goal - reduce overdraft from £398 (feb2011)

Well done mackeroo and enjoy your holiday:T I'd put on 3lbs last week:eek: and dreading this week's club. Holidays and diets just don't mix. I need to check the diary too but I really think I need to up my target. I've been going for 10 for a while as that's my absolute bottom line which I always try to exceed. I'm comfortable with that but perhaps I need a challenge??0 -
