Woo hoo! Thats the spirit! Out in the garden this evening with lime and soday with ice...is there really anything more refreshing? And how wonderful to go to bed feeling sober and waking up in the morning without the thick head feeling.

After a while (quite a long while) of not drinking, you realise its not the drink on a beautiful day thats important but the beautiful day itself. Does that make sense ? I think what I`m trying to say is you start appreciating all the other things and not the drink.

    19 please Shaggy

Makes complete sense Trasi. Yesterday was such a gorgeous afternoon but I was more focussed on getting that wine in my glass. Such a waste. Today will be different.

Well done darwins mum for doing so well. You are starting afresh Miss Piggy so leave your little slip up behind you. Trasijocha it's a very true quote about enjoying the beautiful day not the drink. When i was in the early days of my pregnancy with dd we went on a family hols with ds and I was really fed up about not being able to drink. however I had a fantastic relaxing hols and felt great without the burden of a hangover spoiling things. mrsrainman I still really feel for you with mr r putting away 2 to three bottles of wine a night. Is it affecting him at work at all? he must feel dreadful every day-I think you have the patience of a saint. I'm not going to be af tonight-I'm on nights all over the easter weekend so won't be drinking then so am going to share a bottle of red with dh.

I've just come in from the garden and am pooped! Have to pick DD up from work about 10.30,
so no chance I'll be drinking tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely evening

    AFD 16 for me please

All this talk of sunny weather reminded me of how much of a trigger it was for me - sunny day = alcoholic drink = pub.

Not now, soda and lime is the way to go. Also fresh OJ and pink grapefruit juice is also rather delish - in the fridge chilling for this weekend. Fizzy ginger beer and bit of lime cordial and ice and ye olde Schloer also good ones for me alongside Basics orange squash!
