    11 please, Shaggy, thanks

All my 3 DDs at home now - lovely! Well, so far so good, anyway. DD1 seems to have calmed down a lot since being at uni for a year ....

I can certainly empathise with this. We are a "Yours, Mine and Ours" family. My husband has two daughters from his first marriage, I have one daughter from a previous relationship and we have one son together. My OH and I got together when the girls were very young and had our boy quite quickly so they have grown up together. All four of "the kids" and partners are joining us on Christmas Eve (our traditional day for pressie opening) and then we will all congregate at my DD and DSIL's house on Christmas Day. My DSD's mum is spending Christmas abroad, her loss. I love a family Christmas :).
Unfortunately all the kids have inherited their parent's capacity for the booze; a fact that has been worrying me more recently since I have become more aware of my own drinking :(

    Hi All
I’m AF on a Friday!!!…..very rare and hugely satisfying
That gives me another two AFD’s since I last posted and puts me on 9 AFD’s please shaggy and I managed to notch up a total of 3 for the SNC please bearacus – it’s good to hear that your Mum’s having a break in her treatment over the Xmas period, an opportunity for you all to recharge your batteries x

It’s great to see everyone doing so well in a month littered with temptation – I’m setting myself a mini challenge to get to 14 AFD’s ……I really fancy having a dancing xmas tree next to my name ;)

  • Sorry I haven't managed to come in throught the week! This time of year with kids is CRAZY!!!!

I've spent most evenings wrapping presents. All done now though :j

2 for the SNC which is disappointing. But my friend popped in Wednesday with xmas cards and brought wine. Only had a glass though. I was out yesterday with work and maybe had about six drinks. They were all out for the long haul! But I said my goodbyes and got the train home before it got messy (like previous years :o) So I feel okay about everything really.

Waiting for Graham Norton to come on tonight. My all time favourite Robert Downey Jr is on tonight. Oh and the delicious Jude Law :D
    Need to start again :o
  • I've not been by for a few days, which can only mean one thing..........
    Too much wine !!
Have only been AF one day since last post, so up to 7 for Dec pls Shaggy.
This really puts my target of 16 AFDs in Dec in doubt, which just makes me cross with myself - I just need to re-focus and go for as many AFDs now as I can.
Feeling very positive about AFness in the New Year though. My OH has a dodgy back and has just been prescribed some new medication which he must not take alcohol with. He starts the course in Jan, so this will give us a real impetus to be an AF household for a while......also, I always detox in Jan and drink only juiced veg & fruit etc (the JuiceMaster is my hero !) so am looking forward to a strong start to the year......
Hope everyone is well and many festive best wishes to you all.

I know in my right mind that its better to manage all the stress sober/not hungover but my wrong mind says "blah sucks pants to that girl a big glass of red will make it all go away for a while". I think that's the bit of drinking that has me hooked - it kind of turns everything else off for a while.

Hiya, I was lurking and catching up on stuff from December and couldn't resist posting to say thank you for writing that, it's exactly what mine does too (red=white though).

    Will mull over that.
No AFDs in December, started lurking again a few days ago to see how you're all doing.

Lovely to see the posts from ISOM, Trasijocha and So Sad Angel and thank you all for popping back on here!

A bit disturbed by the baby xmas pud confessions though!! :D

Maybe I need to start a support thread for those of us who enjoy dressing babies in Christmas outfits:rotfl:. Still no more af days-stuck on 5 at the moment and am finding it hard in the run up to Christmas. Am going to aim to be af tonight. Had a couple of glasses last night-nothing major and no hangover but keep getting tempted to have a glass every night because 'it's Christmas'

    Hi Everyone
Not been Af since Thurs but i am tonight so 9 please Shaggy ( hope you had a nice weekend away)

May ~ im with you on the wee challenge, my aim is also to get to at least 14 Af days this month, good luck to you

Caramelcaron ~ thanks for suggestion of filling up wine glass with water, im going to try that one. My current prob at the mo, is when i do have a drink, i drink lots and forget about the water! My main challenge this year was to cut down on the amount of days i was drinking a month, maybe next years challenge will be to cut down on the amount of units i drink.
