1 AFD for me please shaggy. I'm determined to make my 14 in December. Welcome unself-this thread is brilliant and has really made me think about my drinking. Going to be af all week I think but have a Christmas night out that might get a bit heavy on Friday. Don't want to make a idiot of myself though!

I'm back from my long weekend in France. No AFDs to report which is hardly surprising as I've been visiting a champagne house!

I was moderate in my drinking though as most of it was in restaurants with meals. My danger time is when I'm sitting at home just merrily quaffing.

Firmly back on the wagon today so should clock up my first for December.

May I have 3 for the SNC please Bearacus?

Welcome, unself and good to hear from you lala:T on your achievements.

    Hello again everyone.

I lost track in November! When my husband is at home, I'm rarely on the computer, so it was tricky to keep up to date on here. My phone is fine for reading, but not really good for posting on forums. Anyhow, DH went away last week, so here I am back.

I haven't had an AF day in Dec yet :o But it's been a bottle of red spread over 3 nights. Apart from Friday when my friend came over and we drank waaay to much white wine. Felt rough as hell on Saturday. Had arranged a babysitter for Saturday morning so that I could go into town early and finish my Christmas shopping too! Oh that was so much fun!!!!!

Please put me down for the SNC Bearucas. All 4 nights please.

I really need to get myself sorted out. I'm feeling a little depressed because it's the big build up to Christmas and it's just me and the kids. But I know that drinking makes me feel worse.

So I'm hoping by the end of the week I'll be able to have a more positive spin on things :)
    Need to start again :o

I'm definitely nervous about this month regarding drinking :o . We already have drink in the flat ready for Christmas(not much but its the beginning) and its a little unsettling. I have also put off putting the decs up as it usually goes hand in hand with drinking .....

My decs didn't go up this weekend for the same reason......my drinks cupboard is all stocked up and I know that once the tree goes up those bottles are going to rattling away to remind me that they're in there....:o

Welcome unself :hello: - as others have said, you'll have loads of support from the lovely folk here to support you on your journey xx

Massive well done to antonic and Lala - it's great to hear how well you're doing :T

Good to see you back ForeverHopeful - I hope this week is kind to you x

The Christmas 'drinks' season is in full swing for me, I have an Xmas lunch on Wednesday and evening 'do' tomorrow and I plan to be AF for both...so could you put me down for the full monty on this weeks SNC please bearacus ..... I need to get as many AFD's under my belt as possible before I finish work for the Xmas break :o

    Hi Everyone
Im feeling quite optimistic today about clocking up my Af days in Dec, glad ive got another one under my belt....will enjoy it while it lasts as i know how quickly i can undo my best efforts. Dec is a real challenge for us all, so i think we should be extra kind to ourselves this month, and for every achievement no matter how big or small, we deserve a pat on the back
2 Af please Shaggy ( the Dec list is looking so short with the names im sure there will be many more to add in Jan!)
Lala ~ what a great post, thank you for sharing
Unself ~ welcome to the board, and good luck with your journey
Maman ~ hope you had a nice break away
Bearacus ~ good luck with the tree bauble fight ;)
It’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts
  • Looks like there are a few of us needing the support of this place. I'll do my best with the encouragement as well as needing some myself :o

I took the kids and DH out for dinner before he went offshore instead of signing up to my works night out. Well, it's actually a 'lunch' which is paid for by the company. But the celebrations go on and in years gone by I've been out until the early hours of the next morning. I just couldn't trust myself to stay AF or even just to behave myself. It's just not worth it!

When I don't drink, I don't really miss it. Like tonight, I have my elderflower cordial and some peanut M&M's and I'm quite happy :) It's the stopping me from picking up the first drink that's the problem :(

But for today, I'm fine :j
    Need to start again :o
