  • Hi there, I am totally new to these forums and was wanting to ask a question to see if anyone has tried a particular organisation/company that says it can help people give up drink and then reintroduce and drink moderately (i.e. a dream scenario - I don't know how possible that is). The website comes up at the top or near the top of any search regarding giving up drinking, smoking or drugs and has a few different names eg. stop-drinking.co.uk or addictiontherapycenter.co.uk (am I allowed to post website names?). The treatment costs £495 for one session (so VERY expensive) and the number of sessions you need depends on how much you drink. I've actually given up for 2 months now but would love to think I could drink again, but only in moderation, hence my interest in this organisation. The website has lots of testimonials on it but I am still somewhat sceptical and would love to know if anyone has tried it out. I have spoken to someone from the organisation and I'm still not completely convinced, however much I would like to be. I'm sorry if this isn't the right thread to post on, and if it's not could someone direct me where it would be appropriate/ok? Thanks again and a huge good luck and congratulations to all of you who are doing so well with you AFDs.:)

Glad to hear your mum is making progress bearacus. My aunt is going through herceptin treatment at the mo, so completely understand where you're coming from. Sending you best wishes for the next few weeks.....

Well, strong bells about 5:30 tonight - coinciding with a delivery from Tesco wine for a dinner party I'm having on Sat. Having bottles of Prosecco everywhere I turn is definitely a challenge !!
However, I distracted myself with tidying and cleaning the house and am now going to head to bed, totally AF.....
So now 15 AFDs for Nov pls Shaggy and 2 for the SNC pls bearacus.......
  • Hi not having a good week so am bowing out from the SNC this week. I'm hoping that I can manage something this week but not confident so not formally setting a target :(.

  • Bearacus, glad to hear you're mum's been bearing up through the chemo. Hope the next part of her treatment goes well. She's lucky to have you x

Caramelcaron, don't worry about setting a target, whatever you manage will be fine. We all have bad weeks x

AF here tonight, making 11 please Shaggy and 2 SNC Bearacus. Went out tonight but stayed on the sprite zero, even after my £10 win at bingo :D. Quite please with myself really. Maybe if I had a stinking headcold all the time I could manage to be AF every week. Hoping for a better nights sleep tonight, so off to bed for me.
