Had to pop by and say belated congrats to Auntie Bearacus!!
And Mrs R and others thank you for the posts about how much money this is costing. We'd have to hold up our hands to those kind of figures too, two people, 2+ bottles a night, 7 nights or more expensive out of the house drinking instead. What a scary set of numbers. Thought provoking. Thank you all for this thread.
And thanks to RA and Heath for their wise words too. Feeling contemplative now as well as a bit worse for wear. Have a good day everyone.0 -

Snap - my husband works from home too and wanders out of the office (back bedroom) and down to the kitchen then the next thing you hear is glug glug glug. He says he doesn't drink during the day but now it's dark so early the evening can start very early. I'm at home in the afternoons as well so it's very easy to join him. I'm not blaming him for my drinking - it's all my own work - but because it's so "normal" for himI can't talk to him about how I feel. It's not the amount I drink that worries me so much as the terrible feelings of "needing" it every day and counting down to opening that bottle.
Anyway 3 AFDs this week - that's 3 in a row - for the first time in YEARS and I was at a party last night. :j
Happy bonfire night guys.
3 AFDs in Nov please Shaggy0 -
No more AFDs to report but they were planned. Just two glasses of wine on Thursday night at a meal with my OH and dad, and last night had 3 glasses of wine. Wine being left in the bottom of the bottle on a Friday night used to be unheard of, in fact it was pretty unheard of on a school night too at one point. But I stopped when I felt I'd had enough and could feel myself getting dehydrated and I have woken up feeling fine this morning
Going to a fireworks/belated birthday party for my OH tonight which has been a planned drinking night for months, and then I shall be back on the wagon for the rest of the week.
Have a good weekend everyone.0 -

that's a really good point - winter nights mean longer nights and that means wayyyyy more time to drink more wine! even harder when you WFH and can just skip off to the kitchen and open a new bottle!
i can report a happy 4 nights AF on the challenge and 4 for the SNC!
Happy weekend everyone!0 -

Happy Sunday everyone.0 -
No more AF days to report just yet; I drank on Friday and Saturday but compared with some previous weekends not too excessively.
On Friday I had two medium glasses of wine at the "It's the end of the week let's go to the pub after work" and then when I got home OH said he fancied going out for a curry. I don't know why but for me curry and wine just doesn't 'go' so I had one bottle of Cobra and nothing else when we got home. On Saturday I drank less than a bottle of wine; I know this because I said to MrC that we should have separate bottles
It was almost a bottle but there was about an inch left in the bottom (I put it in the gravy for the roast beef today). Not had a drink today (apart from the gravy) yet but I'm reluctant to declare just yet.0 -
OK I've had a drink but I'm watching the X Factor results and I cannot believe that ***** Frankie is still in!
NO! Johnnie's gone.
