5 please, Shaggy, thanks.
I organised DD2's 18th birthday celebration for 24 family members at our house yesterday. I had nothing to drink until the toast. However, when everybody had gone, sat down with Mr Pricey and brother-in-law and had FAR too many glasses of wine as a 'reward'. Will I EVER learn? So foul hangover today and DD2 not pleased with me. But the party was a huge success - I'd been planning it for weeks and cooking, baking, moving furniture around for 3 days.
Onwards and upwards. It's her actual birthday on Thursday, and then her friends are coming round for champagne on Friday - I WILL NOT finish off the champagne when they have gone.0 -

Hellooooo lovely people!
I am happy to report on my weekend.....Thursday night I had a friend over and deliberately DIDN'T buy any wine...ok this means we had a couple of lovely gins with out dinnerBUT it was controlled, sensible and hangover free.
Friday night I just didnt feel like drinking *keel over smiley* so I didnt- despite having a bottle of white in the fridge! I was really tired after having all 4 smalls on my own all week cos himself was working away so I woke up Saturday feeling AMAZING (and I must say VERY smug, as two friends spent all day updating their vomits from the night before on facebook all day)
I then had friends over for Curry and X Factor saturday night whoch I was dreading due to the Work Meeting Of Doom At Stupid O Clock Sunday Morning.....once again I deliberately didnt buy any more wine so we only had the one bottle in (and aforementioned friends are notoriously tight so its not like they would turn up loaded with wine :rotfl:) I WAS going to not drink at all as I was so scared of being hanging for the meeting BUT i then realised I was being a bit obsessive, and as my goal is to cut down/control NOT to completely give up I dedcided to havre a couple. So i am proud as punch (excuse the pun) the report I had 3.5 glasses of wine (left half the last one due to a headache developing) and had a can of diet coke in between :T
I was then able to get up for 7 for my meeting, actually REALLY enjoyed my meeting and then had one can of blackthorn last night whilst at a firework display. I then really enjoyed work this morning as I had a completely clear head and feel great for giving my clients the service they deserve and am looking forward to an alcohol free week now!
I hope everyone else is doing ok and any hangovers have abated ready for a fab week :jHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Put me down for 4 in this week's snc too please Bearacus. Just got a text from my old workmates inviting me out for a beer and a curry on Friday night so that's something lovely to aim for.0

Evening all.
Day 4 for me please Shaggy, and can I sign up for the full monty SNC this week please bearacus, with today being day 1, thanks
idris, well done on your weekend, sounds like you kept yourself in control but still managed to enjoy yourself. This is really what I aim to do, cut down so I don't get blindly blotto every weekend and cut out weekday drinking, for my health, my (slightly expanding) gut and my pennies!
This evening I cooked risotto with leftover wine and managed not to drink any, so feeling proud of myself!0 -
