Thank you all for the kind comments and thoughts. In my heart I know it is up to him to stop, but I am searching for anything that may help. I have removed all the alcohol from the flat that I had - he buys more, but I don't lend him money for booze, I won't provide it and I don't enable him. I encourage him when he is dry and offer support when he feels a bit wobbly. He has asked me to nag him, but Sober Him doesn't always let Drunk Him know that he wanted help.
He's going to lose his job tomorrow. He is on probabtion as a contractor, and his hours are being scrapped due to non-attendance. Less than a week ago he was telling me that he was happier than he has been in years. On Friday he had a job, great mates and this new life on the wagon. Now he has no job, he's driven away a new friend (her, not me) and he's about to make his first visit to his parents since he moved to London two months ago having to tell them what happened since he booked the tickets. I'm gutted for him, and hoped that there would be some small miracle for him. Utterly unrealistic, but you grasp at straws, don't you?
Thank you all again, congratulations on your AFD acheivements and please accept my hopes and best wishes for your own journeys. Very American, but I hope you know what I meanSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

I know it's late but had to call in and clock up my
1AF for November please Shaggy.
Tonight's been tough. I had a really sh*tty meeting to go to and then the bells started ringing louder than I've heard them in months. I was arguing with myself all the way home. What persuaded me was that I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks and I'm determined my dress is going to fit! That and the thought of comng on here and fessing up!:D
So I made do with a couple of large diet tonics with ice and slice.
Oh and that's 2 for the SNC please Bearacus.0 -
Morning :hello:
AF last night Bearacus.
Happy Wednesday!
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
