Sorry no time to catch up but hope all are well. I'm back from France with no AF days to report:o but also no excessive drinking days either. Mostly an aperitif and a shared bottle over dinner. I'm off out to lunch shortly but will be firmly back on the wagon tomorrow to make my target and may I have
10 for a November target please Shaggy
and 4 for this week's SNC Bearacus
and a huge :T:A to you both for keeping scores.0 -
Well what a disaster this week's been. I had 4 AF days out of 5 from Oct 17 - 21 which gave me the confidence to declare 8 for an October target (with another 10 days to go). Since then I've managed 1!! Total rubbish. I could go on about the reasons why but I'd bore me as well as you and actually they're not reasons are they - just excuses and not even very good ones.0

Oh my gosh. I have totally and utterly FAILED this month. Over the last 18 days I have only managed 3 AF days (including today)
Not entirely sure what happened. Was invited out with college friends etc. and have been off work and college for the last week so I suppose I haven't needed a 'reason' to be on the straight and narrow. But boy am I paying for it, literally. I was due to be debt free on Friday when I get paid, but now have a £275 overdraft to pay off. Gutted
I think I need to set a reasonably high target for november and I'm sure december is going to be difficult with it being my birthday and christmas. So can I pledge 20 for November please.
I'm also on 10 for October now.
Feeling quite ashamed of myself.0 -
I'm declaring 25 AFDs for October, please Shaggy. Never tempted to drink on a Monday,so should be OK declaring now.
Target of 25 for November, please.
Thanks!!0 -

OMG - my gob is truly smacked!!!!:eek:
It's true!
We buy about 15 bottles of wine a week at an average cost of £4 - £5 a bottle plus probably 8 cans of beer. The total may even be a bit higher as I had forgotten to factor in that we probably buy a bottle of spirits every couple of months.
However, because I had 4 AF days last week we only bought 12 bottles of wine yesterday so some small progress
The £250 a month spend in pubs and restaurants is made up of: Mr Caramel's couple of lunchtime pints each weekday (£30 - £40ish?) We eat out together or with friends or family about three to four times a month; say 5 - 6 bottles of house wine (£100?), I meet a group of friends for a drink twice a month and reckon to spend about £15 per evening, Mr C meets his friends a couple of times a month for a 'boys' night' and probably spends considerably more than my 'girls' nights'; and then there are random after work drinks for leavings, birthdays etc. It soon adds up0 -

I've had nearly two bottles tonight, but am determined that tomorrow will be AF. I internally planned to be "weak" tonight - but I'm really determined that I'm not going to use the 61 days as an excuse for a terrible month.
So my target for October is 28 days now (1 more) which means I reach it by not drinking tomorrow.
Cheers. Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0 -

I totally empathise with that caramelcaron. I've had a bad couple of months due to lots of socialising and holidays but generally I aim to cut down to half each month being AF. Before joining this thread I was drinking 1+ bottles a night at home every night plus whatever drinking in bars and restaurants. So our spending was similar to you and MrC. I confess that my biggest motivation has been cutting calories, followed by saving money and the health benefits are a bonus. Whatever, we know it makes sense!0 -
Morning :hello:
Back on the wagon last night, so I had a Sober Sunday! and now it's
Have a good one!
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
