Morning All!!!
Thank you so much for listening to me waffle on. Yesterday afternoon I was sorting our budget for next month and MrR commented that we're not doing too badly considering we've got a new baby. I gentley made reference to what his biggest outgoing is (aside from bills) and he did admit that it's around £250 a month and that it's too much. Hallelujah!!! There might be light at the end of the tunnel!!! :rotfl:
365 - Congratulations on reaching 2 years, what a massive achievement :T
Legs - Congratulations on the new Grandson. My little sis was born weighing 2lb 8oz so I know how tiny Charlie must be.
Been called back for an interview at asda this afternoon so fingers crossed.
Happy Friday everyone!!!!!

Thanks Gien. It has been worth it. I no longer have to worry about people smelling my breath at work. I sweat less. I shout less. I never wake up thinking 'Oh !!!! did I really do/say that' I dont have to rotate my shops so people don't realise just how much wine and vodka i get through in a week. I don't have to make separate trips to the dump with my empties. I don't wish my time with my son away so I can get him to bed so I can start drinking. I don't have random sexual encounters. I don't feel like !!!! when i wake up. I am brave enough to accept my emotions however uncomfortable they may be without the aid of an alcohol cushion. I have lost 3 stone. I have gained some amazing friends and lost some dodgy aquantainces. I have a son who is proud of me.
Crazily I am still tempted to have a drink from time to time....most days it never even crosses my mind. I will have to live with the fact that I will never be able to drink normally but the benfits of that outweigh the costs. Profoundly.
I get really embarrassed putting our recycling tubs out. Quite often MrR will do it when he goes out to work but he doesn't put the lid on the tub so all our neighbours can see how many bottles are in there

afternoon all - it's sunny here but cold - I should go for a walk but have too much housework because I've been a lazy !!!! all week!!
I had wine last night , two small glasses and felt it this morning - really, as soon as you don't drink you notice it when you do!
So, I was talking to DH about getting a bit fitter for the winter (it's too easy just to slump and eat stodgy food) and he did say that we could have an AF month- I immediately said, yes, why not, we've not got any pressing social activities, we're going to be quite quiet, so I'm going to go for 30 days next month please shaggy and get DH to accompany me.Trying to keep in budget.

Reading about the alcohol expenditure in MrsR's household made me think about what we spend. I should probably say now that both Mr Caramel and I have good jobs and we have a good standard of living. However, we love to travel and if we didn't drink as much it would be a very nice holiday.
I have worked out that we probably spend about £300 a month at Sainsburys on wine and beer and probably another £250 (a conservative estimate) a month on alcohol bought in pubs and restaurants
SO I have decided that every day I don't drink I will put £4 in a pot to represent the cost of a bottle of wine (can you tell I don't have a sophisticated palate?) Then at the end of the month it will be my 'mad money' to spend as I like

Caramelcaron- That is a huge amount. But I guess you know that already!! Over 6k a year on booze. Enjoy spending your 'mad money'.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
