What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

1 AFD yesterday at last. Thanks. Lovely to read all the stories. I've been slipping a bit lately, it's a bit scary how easily you can fall back into bad habits .... must be ever vigilant. Sunshine on Leith today as the Proclaimers would say. Maggie.

    Good morning all

    Hope everyone is ok today?

Had an awful nights sleep. Probably drank about two bottles of wine yesterday (starting about 3pm:o) and woke up in night with sweats, shakes and my heart jumping all over the place.

Its really worried me. My Mum had a heart attack at age 50 (due to heavy smoking which she then gave up immediately - I don't want a heart attack to be the only way I give up alcohol!) And I contemplated not telling anyone. But figure if I tell you guys then its out in the open.

I want Piglet to have a Mummy that is sober and happy. And alive.

My OH expressed his concern for me this morning. And that worries me too as normally he has no concept of whats a lot to drink and what isn't (he's teetotal).

Somethings got to change:( I've tried this before haven't I and then slipped back into my old ways. Got to try something new.

3 AFD for me. I had a rubbish week just past. Fell into a lot of old/bad habits. Now I am back on the AF bandwagon. I am in for the school week challenge, Bearcus! So 1 for Monday.

It is really good to hear the positive encouragement from people.
Good luck on your drive DM.
Lala, good luck with your journey. I hope you get a restful nights sleep.:A

Miss Piggy, sorry to hear about your scare last night. I was thinking of going for a rest of April AF personal challenge. If you would like to join me we might be able to muddle through it together?!

  • Good morning everyone, can you add 1 AFD for me, so that makes it 3/16.

Miss Piggy, hugs to you, don't be too hard on yourself, we are all only human and the fact you are aware that you need to re-assess your drinking, I think is part of the battle.

I am no one to talk, I do miss my Whiskey, its a drink I really enjoy, but I have realised now that it is a drink I binge on. I seem to be able to cope/limit the amount of wine or beer a bit better, don't know why. I am no longer buying Whiskey, if its not in the cupboard I can't have it.

Morning all. Feeling a lot more positive today, I really think the drink makes me more morbid and that can't be good for anyone. AF last night so 1 for the challenge please Bearacus, and 1 more for April please Shaggy making 7/21. Sorry to hear you had a bad night Miss P, why don't you get yourself checked out to be on the safe side x.
