Glad you got something for the tickets flimsier, what a bu$$er you couldn't use them yourself. :Tfor not drowning your sorrows.
:grouphug: MissP, sorry to hear about your dad but Crohns is liveable with now he's got the diagnosis.

I didn't check in last night as wasn't up to sitting at computer due to horrid backache, Fortunately for first time in a week am pain free tonight:) BUT DH's birthday today so have had wine and champagne (& cake:o). So yesterday's score

6AF for September and 2 for the SNC thanks Shaggy and Bearacus.
  • ((hugs)) for Miss P, I hope your Dad starts to feel better soon.

Good to see the AF days clocking up for you guys. I'm not AF tonight as planned, treating myself to a glass of red as the fella is away and I've had 2 very loooong days. I'll be going to bed afterwards though so it'll stay at just the 1. :)

On another note, the world's biggest spider is in my kitchen :( They always choose to visit me when my bf is abroad!

Thank you and i'm loving the clear head and fully functioning brain that doesn't mind getting up in the mornings (well not as much as before anyway)!.

Friday might be another story though, still i am aiming to cut down not go tee total, so to do 4/7 nights for me is fantastic. DH has been having a drink here and there and its not bothered me at all.

  • Yes, I think this is my longest without a drink for about 12 or 13 years.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?
  • Morning all

3 nights for me on the SNC Bearacus

Done 5 in a row now and that is the longest for me for .. well .. I can't remember! 9 AFs in Sept. Just got to hope that this wave of enthusiasm transfers in something that's sustainable for me. I'm going out to meet friend tonight, haven't decided whether to drink or not but as she's not a big drinker will be easy not to (unlike with some other people). Actually think that's just made my mind up!
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
  • Morning everyone,

AF for me last night please Shaggy and 3 for the SNC x

Went out for tea last night with one of my good friends. She doesnt normally drink alot so I felt pretty safe for an AF before going. But when we got the bar she said Im having a wine do you fancy sharing a bottle  I really did have a major wobble. But I managed to say no and ended up having a couple of j20 and she ended up only having the one spritzer and then coke. Had a great night without getting drunk in a pub. This saying no is definitely getting easier :)

  • I am going to an event with free booze tonight. Feeling like having a 'sod it' moment, so much going on at the moment and I'm ahead of my target. bah.

Is it solipsistic to quote myself? Probably. Well I did indeed have a sod it moment but had a good time, didn't make a t!t of myself and got home safe so I guess that's OK. I spotted one of the people I was with last night secretly pouring vodka that he'd brought with him into his pint of lager. :(

2 days AF. Friend came round last night. I did have two beers and one gin, which is an improvement on the six I would normally have! The key thing for me is to think about how rubbish I'll feel the next day, when that didn't factor into things before - cliche, but it is about attitude.

Now, hoping to be AF until next Monday - we're off camping, and I suspect beer will be involved in e.g., pub lunches, but want to be active mostly.
