Thanks Bearacus. Good to hear about your cousin....my Dad has been so poorly lately and lost lots of weight (he's normally very fit, strong and solid) so its been awful to see how quickly he's gone downhill. Good to know the prospects are good now diagnosed though. Thank you.

Not said a lot on here about it. I'm so close to my Dad and its been horrible seeing how he's been.

Apparently you're meant to picture them all naked!:D Mind you, think I'd find it more of a hindrance than being shy!

I'm quite shy myself (honestly!!) and I always, in those situations, try to imagine myself as a strong, confident person. I basically pretend to be someone I'm not!:o Just pretend you're an actor playing a part. Works for me.

Thanks Miss P. Should have read that before I did the training. Just finished and managed to completely forget something major I was supposed to cover, but never mind. It's over! :T. Sorry to hear your dad's poorly. Hope diagnosis means he'll be feeling better soon with change of diet etc. My pa's v. poorly at the moment too, am trying not to pre-empt firm diagnosis but have frightened myself half to death googling various things. Never a good idea.

I am going to an event with free booze tonight. Feeling like having a 'sod it' moment, so much going on at the moment and I'm ahead of my target. bah.

  • Thanks for the smilies bearacus - very silly but feel very proud, obviously didn't get enough stickers when I was in reception class! Although it's 2 nights SNC (not including today) I've done 4 nights on the trot, and feel I might might make it to a whole week which hasn't happened for the longest time!

Miss P, sorry to hear your dad's not great but it is good news that they know what it is and that there are good treatments. xx
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

    Helloooo!
MissP - best wishes to you and your family, I hope your Dad will be ok. I'm a Daddy's girl too!
I can't remember the last time I checked in here, been awfully busy, but am now up to 13 for September (including this evening) and 2 for the SNC.
Have a banging headache tonight (too much concentrating at work) so am going to crawl into bed early with a book I think.

Hope everyone's ok, haven't caught up properly, will try and do so tomorrow xx
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.
  • Have somehow managed to clock up another two days AF, super busy long days at work which certainly helped! 14 down 16 to go :).

    :(

Sold them for a £39 loss (but £46 more than I would have got) on ebay.

And I'm on 14 days as no alcohol tonight.

    So all is good! xxx

    Afternoon all

Struggling here today. My Dad has been diagnosed with Crohns disease. Although he's feeling quite positive (he's been in so much pain lately its good to know now whats wrong and start getting treatment), I'm finding it hard to deal with. Because I'm a "Daddy's Girl" I suppose. I know he's ok and all that. But doesn't stop me worrying :o

    Oh !!!!, that's terrible. :(

    Hi everyone,

Sorry i've not been about, been an extremely busy 6 days and i feel like i've been chasing my tail.

Hugs to anyone struggling and hello to any new people.

Just wanted to update, last week ended in 2 AF days, did drink a fair bit over the weekend and felt so crap by monday I announced to DH that i was doing the SNC. The first day was easy as i had resolve and asked DH to put my fave stuff back in the shed and he's got the key on him for safety!!! Remember me doing that last time - seems to work for me as I know i can't reach it the craving seems less.

Tues, Wed and Thurs nights I'm working so can't drink either. So basically that is that.

I don't think i've ever done four days in a row for years :T

Please can u update me for 4SNC this week and 6 AF in september, my target for september will be 15 days. Thanks.
