Hi CazzaMazza, yes i remember you from before, when I have slipped on and off the wagon. I've only been back on it since the 5th September and managed 2 days the first week and completed the SNC this week. The first week was hard, hence only the 2 days as i had gone back to drinking every day and the 2 days i did were work nights, so easier. This week was easier for 2 reasons. First was I got DH to put my vodka and baileys in the shed and he's taken the key too, this has helped my remove temptation as i know i can't get it, i don't want to buy more as i have some, if that makes sense. The monday was easy as i felt rough from the weekend and the last 3 nights i've worked.

I am planning on having some drinks tonight, but not overboard as i've really enjoyed having a clear head all this week, had more energy and generally felt more positive and happier.

Caz, I hope life settles down for you soon, but as you know you have to be ready to make the change, I've found that a lot easier by visiting here regularly, daily or every other day to keep motivated and inspired. Things usually go wrong for me for weeks when i stay away from here.

    Good luck and keep updating!

Flimsier - my son is a Fulham fan, not many of you about!

I'm not a Fulham fan. I just like football (so why was I watching Fulham???)

    Anyway, 16!!
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

I'm sure that's good advice cuppatea, not just for cazza but for all of us. Keep checking in, even if it's not good news it shows you still have good intentions!

    Morning
AF for me last night, I was so tired I got home, got DS's dinner, had big bubble bath and crawled into bed. I'm going out today for lunch with my family for my mum's birthday so won't be AF but will try to be sensible.
There's a work night out planned on 28th but I'm going to drive and not drink, I really don't want to go out and get plastered on a weeknight and I know if I start it'll get out of control.
After that, nothing planned till Christmas so should be able to stay AF for a nice long run.
Right, DS has a football match at ten so I'll go and have a quick whiz round with a duster before we go.

Hope everyone has a really lovely weekend.
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.
  • Please put my target as 30. I'm going to make it as well.
    Thanks maman.

  • Thanks to everyone on this thread I've managed the full monty for the SNC, and made 7 AF days in a row, can't remember the last time I did that and 11 AF days in September.
Read Allen Carr, (so not using willpower!) enjoying being AF but still feel a bit teetering on the brink of going completely AF. Visitors tonight, normally have a few drinks when they come, so this will make my mind up as to cutting down or giving up.
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
  • I thought I would update you all on my progress after such kind words last time! I am up to 13 AFD this month so far. I am aiming for 27 which means that I mustn't have anymore booze this month!

I am feeling really proud of myself. Two of the days when I had a drink it was only one glass of wine and the other was a few more but managed to stay in control and not get upset. I think knowing that it was pre-planned drinking occassion made me feel that it was ok as it was the exception rather than the rule. I must say though that I am still feeling pretty tired from the excessive night which is spurring me on to keep things at a sensible level. I just feel so much better when I'm not drinking.
  • Evening all,

I thought I had got over the real big craving for alcohol but it doesnt seem like it,I could go and open a bottle for no reason other than I want to. Lucky I dont have any in the house :(

So AF FOR ME BOTH LAST NIGHT AND TONIGHT 16/30 please Shaggy.

Hope you all have a good weekend
