  • After posting last week that I needed to get back on the wagon, I'm ashamed to say i didn't even set foot on it. RL has been pretty pants here. Mum's back in hospital and I've not been coping very well. Meaning I've been drunk practically every night since she went back in. Anyway, today is a new start. I've been to the doctors this morning as I'm feeling so low and can't seem to sleep without a drink. He's told me to cut down and then give up completely within 3 weeks, and then he'll prescibe me some anti-depressants which will help with sleeping and my nerves. I managed 1 more AFD (making 4) this weekend, which ironically was on the day I went to visit mum. I know I can be AF and have managed the SNC before, and I've told hubby what the doctor said and he is willing to do the same, so can you please put me down for the full SNC this week. This time I mean it.

Go for it rachel.:Ton being AF over the weekend. Sending you a :grouphug:and keep posting! My doctor prescribed amitryptaline for me last week as I had a trapped nerve in my back. Apparently they're also used as anti-depressants. I was floating and slept the best I have in years. It's much better than the drugged sleep from alcohol where I always wake up after a few hours with a horrid dry mouth.

    Take care.

    Hello
I had planned to have a drink on Saturday. However, I did it Annie style, got totally hammered and spent the whole of yesterday throwing up (sorry, tmi).
Can't remember panything after about 8pm, other than downing a lot of red wine. I woke up in the bed my visitors were meant to be sleeping in with them having spent a very uncomfortable night on the sofa with only one blanket, I was somehow wearing a t shirt belonging to my son (who's 11) and not really knowing what happened.
Think I'll give the booze a miss from now on.

    4 for the SNC please.
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.

AnnieG Yea been there, thought i'll have a couple & then not remembering what happened later.

Oh Annie, I think we've all been there at some point, hideous experience, my commiserations.

Good for you Rachel setting off with determination.

I'd like to be in for the SNC please, full monty, today completed.
Have list track of totals but was not AF over the weekend as I was away with friends. Must catch up with everything now!
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Tucked up in bed with laptop. Going to try for an early night for once, to see if it helps. 5 please Shaggy, and 1 SNC completed. Heard earlier that Mum is coming out of hospital tomorrow, and they're not going to do another operation. Not sure what that means yet, but I'll try to stay on the positive side. DS is dressing up as a roman soldier at school tomorrow, so I'm sure a few photos of him dressed up will cheers her up a bit (and me).

  • Hi all, just a quick one to say AF tonight and can I sign up for the full SNC this week please.

Been away at a festival all weekend, so no other AF days to report. Drank rather too much so will behave this week. Hope everyone is well, will catch up properly tomorrow.
  • Hi All

AF tonight so that's 12 AFD's please shaggy and 1 for the SNC please bearacus (I'd like to go for the full monty again this week)

rachelww - so sorry to hear you're having such a tough time at the moment...the SNC is a great way of reducing regular drinking in bite sized chunks...1 night down, just 3 to go ;)...take care x

AnnieG - I'm another one who's been there and got the t-shirt. I have a permanent dent in my bum where I fell flat on my jacksie on the corner of a concrete step....and I didn't feel a thing at the time but jeez did I know about it when the alcohol wore off - bad times!! :o
