Thanks for all your support guys, you're lovely :). Mum came to lunch today and ate really well which was good. Not AF yesterday. Went to watch Brighton play (my first ever football match) and was dreadfully hungover. Missed both goals as first one I was taking DS7 to the loo, and the 2nd, I was reading the programme. Went to the pub afterwards and had one pint of lager. I don't normally do hair of the dog, but it was half past 5 by then, and I felt so much better afterwards. After mum left today, we went to the social club and had 2 pints. Will be back on the wagon tomorrow, and I will be up for a Mon to Thurs challenge if anyone is doing one. Well done to all who are AF, and I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend xx

    Hi everyone.

I'm sooo down. I have nocturnal eplilepsy that is controlled by medication. I've not had a seizure for 7yrs UNTIL last night. I can't deny that alcohol has to be a massive risk to seizures. I had about 6 bottles of beer and 3 quarters of a bottle of wine yesterday. I was sick before I went to sleep. OH was fantastic, kids didn't witness anything and I've slept most of the day. OH works early shifts and gets up at 5.00am everyday. I'll get up with him for the next week so I don't risk fitting when I dose off again and upset the kids. Does anyone here have any experience of it?

I have to face up to it that excessive alcohol can be a trigger and my kids are the most important thing to me. I can't risk my health.

I'm not drinking between now and next Sunday when we have a trip to Wembly. I'll have TWO drinks on Sunday....no bingeing ever again....big statement but I have to do this. I hope you can support me.

    x
    :);) AF since 10.04.11 :):D

Hey DM i can relate to this. We get a fortnightly recycling glass pick up and over the new year, we couldnt even fit all the bottles in the blue box, so when night fell, i packed my car with all the extra bottles and drove 1st thing to the local recycling point, i was so embarrassed to put out all our glass bottles. DH thinks i was mad, but i was worried 'what the neighbours might think' This was 1 of many reasons why i wanted to cut down. Since then, im almost rushing to put the glass recylcing box outside as now its just jam jars etc.
Think postive..this will be you last 'walk of shame'
Mackeroo, I remember once loading up my car with 2 weeks worth of empties and having to give my boss a lift before I could get to the recycling point. going over speed bumps led to lots of clanking in the boot! I was mortified but turned the stereo up!

I know where you're both coming from with the recycling. I was embarassed when checkout person used to ask regularly 'Having a party, can I come?' when I was buying just our normal week's supply.:o

Of course we can! I'm sorry but I have no experience of your condition but if it's encouragement to keep drinking sensible then you're in the right place.

    AFD 7 for me tonight

Had one drink Fri night and one drink Sat night a very diluted sake and tonic water with a little elderflower cordial - seems 1 is enough for me these day and as it was quite weak strength that was good too

I'll be cracking up at least another 4 AFDs next week so I'll catch up with up with you all later next week

  • The first few days can be difficult. When I stopped drinking I had trouble sleeping for the first few days and then it swung back in the opposite direction and I was sleeping for 10 or 11 hours a night. Well done on being AF :T :T :T

Thank you. Feeling emotionally and physically worn out. Would love a good nights sleep now

no experience of nocturnal epilepsy, but it sounds awful. My ex suffered from sleep apnea which often caused him to stop breathing, very scary.
Of course We will offer all the support we can to help stop your binges. sending virtual hugs.
