    Good morning all

Rachel - so sorry to hear about your Mum. You don't sound at all hard to me. Lots of ((hugs))

Darwins_mum - ((Hugs)) to you too. Sounds like you're on that emotional roundabout we've all experienced when it comes to wanting to stop drinking. It really is exhausting isn't it? I hope you and your DS have a good visit with your Dad.

Had a good night out with friends last night. Had a really nice steak dinner and a few glasses of wine. Not sure if I'll be AF tonight. Will wait and see,

    Miss P
    xx

Hey DM i can relate to this. We get a fortnightly recycling glass pick up and over the new year, we couldnt even fit all the bottles in the blue box, so when night fell, i packed my car with all the extra bottles and drove 1st thing to the local recycling point, i was so embarrassed to put out all our glass bottles. DH thinks i was mad, but i was worried 'what the neighbours might think' This was 1 of many reasons why i wanted to cut down. Since then, im almost rushing to put the glass recylcing box outside as now its just jam jars etc.
Think postive..this will be you last 'walk of shame'

  • Mackeroo, I remember once loading up my car with 2 weeks worth of empties and having to give my boss a lift before I could get to the recycling point. going over speed bumps led to lots of clanking in the boot! I was mortified but turned the stereo up!

Hugs to Rachel and well done to MP on 3rd anniversary and everyone who met their own personal challenges this week.
    6 AF please Shaggy
I wasnt AF fri as pal came over for dinner and we had 1 glass of wine, i was a bit annoyed with myself as i wasnt really wanting to have a glass but as my pal was i decided to join her, little willpower. Then yesterday we were out in the garden all day enjoying the sun (we dont see much of it in scotlandshire) and i asked DH when he was out picking up BBQ to pick me up 2 cans of cider, i love a cold cider on a hot sunny day. Had 1 and left the other, then in the eve poured glass of wine, but only had sip and put it back in the bottle. Annoyed at myself for this weekend as ive lost 2 possible AF days through having only 1 each day and it means that im not going to meet my target for April:eek: i then thought about not confessing this on the boards but i would be cheating myself and decieving you guys who have shown me nothing but support and encouragement. We are out for dinner this eve and alcohol will be involved, planning to keep it to a minimum and then jump bakc on the AF bus tomorrow.
    Have a good day

  • Managed to watch the Grand National without a glass of wine or a beer in hand for the first time for many years, and have now had a week AF after a shaky start to April. 7 AFDs thanks Shaggy.

  • Spent a fitful night tossing and turning, wrestling with demons I guess, woke up teary but determined to get through today without a drink.

The first few days can be difficult. When I stopped drinking I had trouble sleeping for the first few days and then it swung back in the opposite direction and I was sleeping for 10 or 11 hours a night. Well done on being AF :T :T :T
