Hello everyone. Hoping I could join this thread. Have been thinking of giving up alcohol for a long time. I had said last Friday would be the last day I would drink. Anyway, I've been making these excuses for a long time and after a pretty horrendous evening (won't go in depth but arguments stemming from people having drunk too much) I've decided that enough is enough. Although I wouldn't necessarily say I'm an addict, I feel that there's a growing dependancy there. Personally, it's been a pretty horrendous year and I'm finding myself cracking open a bottle of wine to forget it all. It's happening far too often and it worries me. To top it off, I'm really not a nice person when I drink. Not angry - I just get upset. So this is my starting point. I don't think it'll be easy but I need to do this.
Good luck with your AF journey, I`m 7 months AF now and I just want to let you know you can have just as much fun without alcohol as with it and you have the added bonus of feeling healthier too. Good luck x0 -
Morning all.
3 AFDs for me please Shaggy.
Decided to have a drink on Sunday night as I had a day off yesterday. I had a whole bottle of wine and some glasses of cider - got a bit silly with it and I'm sure my neighbours weren't impressed with my singing along to Popstar to Operastar! Anyway, felt rubbish yesterday morning, which sort of ruined my day off a bit. Hopefully back on track now though.
Hope you are all happy and well.

yoemma -Welcome to the thread and good luck with your AFness xx
Trasijocha- well done on your 7 months Afness:T
Shaggy- Well done on your 4 weeks :T
Sorry I havent been onSaturday was just a major alcohol disaster
and Ive been trying to make right all the Sh*t I said since then.
A combination of sun, far too much wine and being emotional led to me being an absolute doorknobto both my brother and friends !!
So Sunday was spent apologising, crying , and trying to actually remember all the events of saturday(whilst having hangover paranoia).
I have been Af since then so thats 2 please shaggy and Im going to go TF for July thankyou x
I am also running the SNC as off today (but I will include Monday night results) so any takers please let me know and I will add you x

Morning All!!
Welcome to the thread Yoemma
A big congratulations to both Trasijocha and Shaggy :T
Well done to Posie Flump, a good start to July :j
Sending you hugs Bearacus, I hope you were able to make everything right again on sunday :grouphug:
Staurday night was a major disaster in Rainman Towers. Too much alcohol & not enough to eat lead to anger management issues. I'm not sure MrR remembers everything. If he does he hasn't said anything since. I won't go in to all the gory details, but it's fair to say if what happened doesn't give him a massive wake up call then I don't know what will!
Feel a bit wierd this morning. Like Little Bean has shifted over night and is now much lower  Think I need to go and collect my pushchair this weekend from the friend I've bought it from. Just in case!
Very quiet on here the last couple of days. I wonder if everyone has been out enjoying the sunshine
Have a good day all

Good morning everyone-hope you are all well. 4 afds for me please shaggy and can I join the snc please bearacus with 1 day under my belt. Welcome yoemma to the thread-I've found it such a support in controlling my alcohol intake. Bearacus-can really sympathise with you-I hate that feeling of the morning after when I've been a complete idiot and overreacted because of too much booze. Hope you are feeling a lot better today-you've apologised so try to stop dwelling on it. Mrs R-I hope you are ok. When you say anger management with mr R I hope that this is not directed at you. I think that's all part of coming to terms with cutting down/giving up Posie. The more you experience feeling 'alive' after an AF/moderate night the more it will spur you on to be sensible. I had a half bottle on Sunday and was tempted to open another. In the past I definitely would have done but this week I made a cup of tea!!Sorry I havent been onSaturday was just a major alcohol disaster
Sorry to hear that bearacus but good that you're back on track now. It's all a learning experience but some of us are very slow learners:rotfl:
I'm on for the SNC please but not sure whether to do 3 or 4. I'm off out to lunch and may have a glass of wine. Will confirm later.0 -
Can I join in for the SNC?I'm presuming it means Mon- Thurs no drinking;)I need to cut down as am trying to lose more weight, and it's costing me a bloody fortune :eek:Had an AF free day yest, and feel so much better for it today, so think I can manage at least 14 days this month AF:D:D
Another incentive is i'm doing the house up, so will save the cash and buy nice accessories:D:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
