What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Hello everyone. Hoping I could join this thread. Have been thinking of giving up alcohol for a long time. I had said last Friday would be the last day I would drink. Anyway, I've been making these excuses for a long time and after a pretty horrendous evening (won't go in depth but arguments stemming from people having drunk too much) I've decided that enough is enough. Although I wouldn't necessarily say I'm an addict, I feel that there's a growing dependancy there. Personally, it's been a pretty horrendous year and I'm finding myself cracking open a bottle of wine to forget it all. It's happening far too often and it worries me. To top it off, I'm really not a nice person when I drink. Not angry - I just get upset. So this is my starting point. I don't think it'll be easy but I need to do this.

Hi yoemma and welcome , I think all of us here have had similar awakenings to the one that your having right now....don't put yourself under pressure, take it just one day at a time and use the support from the good people here to help keep you on track. The lovely Shaggy keeps a log of how many AFD's we record throughout the month...you can either pledge the number you hope to achieve in July or chose to be target free, which ever works best for you....good luck xx

It's very quiet in here again....where has everyone gone??

AF again tonight...so that's 2 AFD's for me please Shaggy.

P.S - that song was written for me... I Hate Mondays...lol
