Hi Everyone
Hope everyone is well. Wasnt AF yesterday had a wee can of cider around 4pm, annoyed with myself as i didnt really put up a fight when the bells rang. On a positive note AF tonight, so 13 AF for May please Shaggy. It’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts0 -
31 days please SuperStar Shaggy! :A
Hi folks! Here I am, all in one piece, sliding in through one door and out of the other. Things are going well for me (despite a rotten cold that would have been, yet another, excuse for booze - medicinal etc etc)!
I turned down the job offer...really can't believe it. Gut instinct set in, when I rang the manager and told her that I wouldn't be joining them after all she said "I don't blame you"!!! As I've said before, I know we'll be fine no matter what so will continue to look methinks. As it stands I'm employed until the end of September then get redundancy that is around another months salary. I feel so much healthier and every decision that I make is based on my true feelings and not fogged by a hangover that makes me make the easiest decision. I'm a totally different person.
Hope you're all ok, so sorry, feel that I've abandoned you all. Rest assured that I'm checking in. I'm not going to set a June target, if thats ok with you guys. I can already guarantee that I'll be a whole month AF.
This thread is an amazing support, welcome newbies, you have come to the right place for lots of listening and zero judging.
Thank you all and catch up with you soon...

WBF - Welcome back to the board
MrsR xx
Thanks MrsR, it seems like ages and no time at all since I started my new job and dropped off the wagon here. Got June off to a good start by being AF tonight for the last day in May. And I had some booze free and moderate days in May too, just a few too many missions, especially on a Friday night. So I want June to be different and am setting things off on the right foot by a sober one and an early night tonight.
Hey Mackeroo, your post made me laugh about not really putting up a fight when the bells rang, I had this image of a fit boxing type in gym kit (coz last time you were going great guns at the gym) beating up on this bell as if it were a punchbag. Sorry if that's too silly, had to share.
Good night everyone.0 -

Declaring 29 AFD for May!
I am really pleased with my total. I only drank on two occassions and I learnt a lot from them. I have been putting a cross on the calender when I haven't drank, starting from tomorrow I will not be marking the AFD, as AFD are now normal :j. The support on this board really has been amazing. It has helped me focus. So thank you to everyone!!!!
Good luck with your targets for June everyone!0 -
Hi All
Another AFD today for me which means I’m declaring 16 AFD’s for May please Shaggy and 1 for the SNC please Mackeroo.
Thank you to all you lovely people on here for the support and positivity that’s always in abundance ….until about 5 weeks ago I was drinking (heavily) every day of every week and had been for more years than I dare to think about…and now look at me - 16 AFD’s in May…I’m in shock!! :rotfl:

That's exactly how I started, marking each one off on a calendar. It reminded me of a star chart! but it worked, so I'm not knocking it. Mostly now I've just made the decision that I don't drink dring the week and I stick to it. Although, like mackeroo I do sometimes need to fight off bells:rotfl:
That's 14 for me in May thanks Shaggy
and 1 for the SNC please mackeroo.
Good luck for June everyone:)0 -

Wow, look at all of those targets for June and achievements for May! Perfect end to a perfect day. Random acts of kindness from strangers came into my life today - just when they were needed. A public thank you to a certain someone x
Chloris, I like your approach to making everyday AF, I considered doing that as soon as I reach 90 consecutive days. A bit of a way off yet, and posting daily keeps me accountable (in a virtual sort of way).
Bearacus, have you made your decision yet?
Stay well everyone
