Think we will have to agree to disagree.

Like I said I have different standards to some of you on here. Your wording on the above comment proves my point.

So what do you expect the landlord to do?

What would you do if you owned the flat you are in?

He is using prostitutes!!! he a man in his late 60's early 70's and he pays young girls in there late teens early 20's to have sex with him.
He obviously has no respect for women!!
I don't feel safe because not only is a pervert living above me but the prostitutes "driver" ie pimp, thug!! waits outside the block of flats for her.
The noise is a seperate issue but also a major one that is a constant reminder that he is there above us, so any chance of having a normal evening trying to switch off from this pervert is impossible!!

I could write him a note but I don't want him talking to me, or apologising when he gets it,because I won't be able to not say anything about the prostitutes and then he won't keep the noise down after he's been given a piece of my mind.

Just want to move out. Will check with the resident association about hard floors in flats though, didn't know they might not be permitted.

    Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez. LOL.

Do you actually live in the real world?

This stuff happens all day long, every day, in all parts of the world.

And if you're naive enough to believe that the majority of the girls are being exploited then you really do need to live in the real world. Most (of the good ones...LOL) are probably making several hundred a night.

I say good luck to him. It's his money and he can choose how to spend it. He's probably been nagged to death in a previous life by some feminist bra-burning woman so probably finds it easier to pay for sex and avoid the lecturing.

    Poor OP!
No helpful advice, but I'd like to say that I wouldn't like it either.

And, if that makes me a 'bigot' in other people's eyes, then they are being just as judgemental as they think I am being.

There is no helpful advice because it does not matter if you are a tenant or owner, there is nothing which can be done.

T at least has the advantage they can easily move on if they so wish at end of contract.

Why do you consider me a bigot??

Because it's not really any of your business who this chap has sex with, is it?

If he chooses to use his money to pay out for a young lass to make his day, then good luck to him, I say - it doesn't make him a pervert!

As long as the girls are all consenting adults, then it's also up to them how they earn a crust. I'm surprised they have their own drivers though - most of these girls use cabs that don't wait outside houses.

I do sympathise with the laminate floor issue though - this flooring is a menace in upstairs flats.

    Lin ;)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

been thinking about this all night ......

Ive been called a biggot, curtain twitcher, petty minded and anti social to name but a few of the comments. If only you knew anything about me other than the comments I have made regarding prostitution then maybe you would be able to make an informed opinion.

Protitution is illegal, so is urinating in the street and intimidation.
That is because they are all anti social. What a lovely world it would be if we all did those things.

My neighbour is welcome to spend his money how he wants but why do we have to be made aware of his activities.

We both work full time and are in our 30's with an active social life so we don't sit around all day "curtain twitching".

Prostitution is illegal, "escorting" is legal... I've been called a curtain twitcher and been accused of having no life because I know exactly what my neighbours are up to but WHEN YOU HEAR EVERYTHING, life or no life, you just know. It's very hard and to know that there is nothing you can do is hard. I totally understand you but if you can't leave right now, you will just have to see out your contract then move on. I've been called a freak because my neighbours have led to me becoming a recluse who is unhappy with life but you have to be careful how you word things, I should know! U're not a bigot, you are entitled to your own opinion but in this world, you can't voice them without you being in the wrong!

Of course you could be charged, it sounds like you are giving them racist abuse.
