My god, some of the tips are useless! B_girl, yes that tip was used a couple of weeks ago.

The tip about the engine oil - garages have to dispose of the oil correctly and probably have to pay for it somehow, so what are we supposed to do?

Did like that tip about doing the legs, not heard that one before, although the announcer before the programme was a bit sexist in saying "no more hairy legs for the ladies" or something similar.

Think he said "for the hairy women". Something like that. Lol, I was tired & thought it was funny- put strange thoughts in my mind as I wondered if only hairy women watch superscrimpers. That comment would explain a dream I had last night....

I watched an episode from a few weeks ago (it was the one with the 2 girls who spent £16k a year on 'stuff').

Quite a few tips on using spray paint (spraying bottles, spraying jewellery etc).

Don't they take into account the cost of the spray paint?
Or do they have numerous cans in varying colours lying about in the garage?

I spray painted a kitchen chair that had seen better days recently.

    It's a very nice colour.

But the paint cost as much as a replacement chair from IKEA. So that wasn't scrimping, that was unnecessary (but enjoyable) expenditure. And it's still going to wear out sooner than had I bought a brand new replacement.

ETA: She SERIOUSLY suggested giving a stuffed sock with pompoms and buttons loosely sewn on to toddlers?

I don't care how they hastily added an 'unsuitable for under 3s' to the shot, that's irresponsible.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

.......AND I dispute that was a summer house. Won't get much sun in there-it was a shed.

I dispute that was a 'garden' - most of it seemed concrete and bricabrac.

They'd taken up most of the garden with the 'summer house' and deck so the children had nowhere to play or kick a ball. Yes, the pallets had grown to full length planks.

    I can totally understand that.

    It's the mis-representation that it's a money-saving idea that I find wrong.

Take it to the local dump. Around here, the councils have disposal points for oil at the "refuse recycling centre" (that's what one of the neighbouring councils call it. Posh name for Dump:rotfl:).

I haven't seen this week's episode yet. Sounds like another waste of air time. Am I the only one who's hoping they get axed?

They've done quite well in audience ratings released this week (especially considering they were up against Olympics). I think it demonstrates that people want this type of programme just not this one.

I'd love to think the programme makers read threads like these.

I found it a bit strange that they filmed that part about uni at Birmingham city uni, yet they were promoting going else where. :/

    still not on 4od :(

The 4OD ios app doesn't have Superscrimpers on it! (data missing) What's the point of having the app?? (an alternative flash browser no good either, so on to the lappy I had to go!)

Glad this week the foraging blue eyed girl is not on as she is so annoying trying to make out what she is saying!

The only tip I gained/utilised from this programme was a Bread-pudding recipe last series.
