Apologies if this has already been posted, just read at the back of my tv mag that they are looking for new people to go on the programme as superscrimpers with tips etc,.0
-
I caught caught most of the latest Series (3) :T but then - to my delight - found that Channel 4 online are now showing Series 2 [ hmmm, I must have been busy when that series was on TV, because I completely failed ot noitce it on the TV schedule!!
].
The whole of Series 2 can be seen - CURRENTLY of course - at http://www.channel4.com/programmes/superscrimpers/4od).
Take care all!APennySaved

I noticed that MrsM is doing a programme tonight (8 o'clock on Ch4) about scrimping with winter coming up. It'll probably be recycling old stuff (very mse;)) but I'll record it even if it's just to see if she's still as fat a cat as ever! Meeow!0

Amazing!! As I thought, this was just a series of clips from old programmes and she probably recorded the introduction when they were doing the last series. Even her 'winter' holiday was actually her summer one! I watched the first few minutes and FF over the rest and couldn't see a single thing that was new.
Why do TV companies imagine we're such MUGS!:(0 -
Unfortunatly the t.v. companies really missed a chance for a good programme idea by screening this rubbish, and seem to think that the only people who would want to watch it are somewhat dim. This is both insulting and patronising to its viewers.Like many on this forum I don't consider myself either dim or slightly batty for using money saving ways to make my life better and my limited pension stretch further.By using my resources to their limits I manage to
A. Not get into debt.
B. Enjoy a decent good standard of living
C. Have three weeks holidays a year
D.Not waste stuff and fill landtip with thrown away food or materials.
Channel Four does have some good programmes at times, but to make a programme that ridicules folks frugal ways is both disappointing and a waste of good tv time Dumbing down programmes when, with the country in the precarious position its in, it should be doing more to educate and help those of the population who yet have not had their 'light bulb moment' when it comes to making the most of what you have0 -
What a swizz it was a compilation of the last series. I turned off. I much preferred make do and mend which was shown last year on day time tv.

Sorry, but that program is mostly ridiculous.
Loads of really obvious tips dressed up as being astounding and the clothes/jewellery/makeup 'tips' are just silly;
Last night:
'Make a really cool vest' - get an old t-shirt and just haphazardly cut the arms off, then haphazardly cut the neck bigger and c-r@ply handstitch it all round. Et viola! A scuzzy looking, plain and ill-fitting cool vest - wow!
Nails - get some clear nail varnish and pound shop glitter - paint and dip - and you have lots of women looking like they've gone to the local playgroup and asked the kids to do their nails for them. 'Salon quality' - cool! (Don't go to nail salons or even hairdressers for cuts meself, do it all at home).
Oh and the LEGWARMERS , oh dear Lord, the legwarmers.
Here's what you do - you know that old jumper you've got lying around that you managed to shrink in the wash? Yeah, well leave that to one side, get a really nice and really quite groovy jumper, like the one we've got here tonight, and CUT THAT ONE UP (criminal) to make some really 'king strange legwarmers. Dance around in an embarrassing way, lifting your legs up, whilst wearing your new legwarmers - cool!
Who the heck wears legwarmers now? They're not even 'retro' any more - never mind not even being practical!
And don't even get me started on toffo Kirsty's programs...*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*
