Why do people keep saying feedback is something new. I've bought and sold properties for the last 15 years and have always given and received feedback. I've always found it very useful.

Don't forget it can help buyers too - if the first 5 viewers to a property say the only reason they don't like it is because it's over-priced, the seller might lower the price - or at the very least may make them more open to low offers. If the first 5 viewers say nothing and just ignore the EA's calls, it will probably take them alot longer to drop the price.

Yes I am definitely a bore if I am at a dinner party with a bunch of EAs ;)

Sounds like you'd be a bore at any party. ;)

Because the EA wants to know WHY like a a little kid.

Also because sometimes you want to "think about it" but the EA keeps asking have you finish thinking about it?!

So in your case it's because you feel unable to handle someone who is like a "little kid"?
Someone who keeps pestering and you're not able to cope with it?

You don't have kids of your own then? :D

Yes I guess I would be in your eyes if someone asks me for feedback on property buying and selling. What a connection.

Haha so now we now saying whether my parenting skills should be utilised for giving feedback to a bunch of EAs. You guys are funny.

Let's get back on topic. It's pretty simple. This feedback stuff is just EA's selling effort to keep you involved in the property. If you weren't interested, you weren't interested. You don't need to explain yourself to an EA.

Do you understand that agents have lists of buyers whom they call when new instructions arrive? Those people view first.

Not in Norfolk they don't. We looked for six months before buying (we were polite cash buyers who had sold) and nothing seemed to persuade local EAs to give us new instructions before they went onto Rightmove. During the whole process, we encountered one superb EA and ended up buying from her. The rest were pretty underwhelming, to say the least.

Only one agent ever bothered to ring us with new properties, and that was once they were already online. To be fair, only one didn't bother to follow up feedback.

Well you're the one who suggested they acted like children and if the same handling techniques work then why not if it gets the job done? :D
Why don't you give it a go!

I've had feedback in the past like "the front room is too small for my grand piano" and "we don't like the area". Stop wasting MY time. I hardly live in a 6 bed detached in a salubrious area of Cheshire.

I'd rather have no feedback at all than to go to great lengths to accomodate people into my property at all times of the day who haven't bothered to research the local area or postcode or even spend time checking out the dimensions of the property they are so-called interested in.

We sold our property through a brilliant estate agent in 2009/2010 and viewed a lot through them as well,I had no problem giving feedback and accepting feedback on mine..even if some of it was totally stupid.
We went to look at a property with another estate agent and the seller showing us round was a total loony, which was a shame as the house was'nt bad.
Unfortunately the estate agent kept on like a dog with a bone asking me about feedback and I had to be honest and say that the seller was nuts and she would'nt sell the house unless someone else showed them around.
